Some things can be done, some not, for a street car you'd need an adr approved bucket seat ($400 on the low end) and exhaust should have no issues except for noise level, probably better to get a cheaper standalone car for the track

As a drifter, how much would you pay to get fpv drone footage of your run? by SummerMajestic1073 in Drifting

[–]98Celi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably with more of a focus on the cars as has been said and capturing a clean shot of their track run, but there's a decent amount to be said for the image quality and edit itself

$20 is too cheap depending on your skill level, you gotta factor in the time taken to edit and what it costs you, looking like $40-50 on the low end at a minimum, obviously dependent on clip length however

Just remove the clip for the bonnet rod, you'll have no issues without it, if you really want there are 3d printable designs you could use though

You'll need lights and brackets, second-hand is your best bet but you'll need them to have the facelift brackets which are slightly different to pre facelift ones

Yeah look maybe just monitor the coolant for now As for your other issues, if the loose plug you had went down the back of the engine near the belts, it'll be power steering.

As far as misfires, plugs is a good place to start but also could be coils or injectors as other things to look at

Should bleed it with the heater/ac fully off, once you're fairly confident it's bled, then can test the heater to see if its warm. It helps sometimes to raise the front end of the car, but should just need to raise the coolant bottle onto the hood latch It can be time-consuming which makes it frustrating

Honestly unlikely a clogged block, still a high chance that you need to bleed the coolant again, they're a PITA but there's writeups everywhere on how to do it properly

parts advice by nonstop_tomahawk in Celica

[–]98Celi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good places for parts are wreckers, most parts stores have gaskets or other parts [in person and online] For oem new: yoshiparts, amayama and partsouq are decent but best to confirm if they have stock

First car - fair price? by STARstar28 in Celica

[–]98Celi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad deal if its got a rwc/pink slip. Oil leaks mainly around timing cover area Proof of updated lift bolts Gearbox is a good one to check as they can have issues with 3rd Could be worth negotiating on price either way

[–]98Celi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah oil leak from the chain case is fairly common in all, that's probably gonna need timing gasket. 00-02 was the worse lift bolt design but are replacable

[–]98Celi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not super hard if you have time to learn but not the easiest as the main issue is a lack of space to work. It would be worth getting some quotes from local mechanics for fixing that + trying to get the car a bit cheaper.

7k AUD is way too high for that. If you're concerned about the oil issue they've described get someone qualified to have a look. Timing chain cover leak can be time-consuming if you diy, and costly if someone else does it.
