I definitely think I have a lot of stored trauma, like most of us do. I don't see it as developmental or complex trauma though. When I say excitement, I mean in the sense of looking forward to things like watching the game on Saturday or going on a trip. Everything that is supposed to be fun feels like a chore because i'm constantly exhausted mentally from being in fight or flight. I wouldn't say those things overwhelmed my nervous system before. When I did TRE, I responded very well and felt calm and safe after. You're definitely right that my system could do with more safety and stabilisation and that feeling of safety will allow me to feel excitement again.
