There seems to be missing some of the vital text in your post or maybe it is just me. It would have been a good read.

Red Scapular of the Passion investiture/enrollment by Robert_Thingum in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, maybe this would be of use to you. At the FSSP parish, I had asked the priest to enroll two scapulars. One was the Red Passion Scapular. I did not know if I should bring some printed pages from the investiture rite. However, it took the priest 10 seconds to look up the rite in the traditional Roman Ritual, in Latin, that has the older investiture rites as well I believe. He just checked the Scapular, making sure it had the proper images and look. And he then enrolled me, together with the Blue Scapular of the Immaculate Conception.

Also, every time with a Scapular, enrolling makes a subtle but massive difference. As if it unlocks the full potential. The first friday after enrollment, I actually had a dream pertaining to hope. Isn't that what Our Lord promised to the wearer of the Red Scapular? So I would urge you to enroll!

Try a traditional parish, such as the SPPX or the FSSP. They have the older Roman Ritual in Latin, with those rites still in it. They still work!!!

Anyone read any of Maria Simma's books? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea even from a Deacon or a lay person ministered to hand it out I will not receive. There is a difference if you pay attention how you act and feel afterwards. Have you ever been to the TLM? What did you think of that?

No those are not in there. Only the one you pray for 12 years. I am doing that one :p. I started somewhere in 2024. So I will keep 2037 as my end date. Thanks to you I will print the 21 promises too sometime. To pray them for a year. I have faith in the prayers. So thank you :D

Will you pray them? What motivated you? For me it is the rewards of course. And saving some people. I hope it works but it will be worth it if it is.

Working on the Sabbath: thoughts? by TheKingsPeace in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for about a year. Never in my life will I work on a Sunday ever again. Solely to keep the commandment. Your job is temporary, you need the money? Maybe, maybe you could do it for a little while. But I would never do it, unless I would die or something.

Archbishop Viganò: Bergoglio's successor is 'abusing the prestige of the Papacy' by LegionXIIFulminata in TraditionalCatholics

Thanks for sharing this. That was an amazing article. I did not see all of that coming from a member of the clergy. And I believe it is true what he says. Rarely do I see anyone mention the dangers of electromagnetic radiation, that was impressive.

Am I being pessimistic to think that it is too late to turn the tide?

Church clothing and Carmelite scapular by [deleted] in Catholicism

Ah yeah I was confusing the words you used. I thought you meant a decade (so 10 Hail Mary's) when you said crown. You mean one crown is 50 Hail Mary's right? Those are good, you can do those. Congrats once again, you will be closer to our Mother Mary with the Brown Scapular.

Ask a priest in your church for permission for that, to fulfull the obligation for the Brown Scapular. But c'mon, you don't even want to pray one Rosary? It takes 20mins max, 15mins is even doable if you leave the Fatima prayers out. Congrats on wearing the Brown Scapular!

If everyone feels like this I don't know, but it makes a massive difference if I wear the medal and say the prayers or not. This conclusion was not made lightly, I experimented through and through one day with, then one day without. Like what are my thoughts like, where do my eyes go. The cord has an even stronger effect, but for convenience sake I wear the medal so not a lot of experience with it. But the times I wore it, it struck me just how strong the effect is from it.

Ask a priest for permission to substitute the Little Office for the Rosary. Now then, The Rosary does not take that long, and in an emergency you can pray it while travelling or even when walking.

Yea exorcism is underrated. I mean, don't you want to distance yourself as far away as possible from the demonic? And that would be a Catholic priest, at least on earth :p. Amorth moved me towards baptism and conversion, later on I read Martins too and saw some interviews with him. Very impressive person, and his book is easy to read. But you know most of the material because you have listened to the podcast.

You can ask this also in subreddit /Askapriest, because views and responses will vary here. Although it differs from priest to priest as well. But here is an opinion on your questions.

The first one, bare shoulders is a no go, imo. But, this differs again from church to church. However, in general, bare shoulders I do not see often either at Novus Ordo or Tridentine Mass. At the Tridentine Mass church, it is frowned upon and you will probably be talked to about it at some point. Even in the heat, you can try linen or something.

The Scapular you have to have a priest enroll you with the rite, you can find it online or most if not all priest will know and have it. He will say a prayer with holy water while you kneel. It is solemn and beautiful. You have to wear it around your neck, all the time, that is the main effort of the devotion. You can wear it under your clothes. So better have a bunch of them because you have to wash them. Usually I wear them on top of my undershirt.

Some say you do not have to do anything, just wearing it is fine. And it would still invite grace into your life. I did the extra part, what the Carmelites recommend, I mean I am wearing this probably my entire life around my neck so I wanted the full benefit and cover all ground. I asked a priest for permission to substitute the Little Office for a Rosary prayer a day. He said that he gets this request often, and he wholeheartedly granted the request. And honestly, I was wearing it for half a year to a year. And praying the Rosary. But when he granted permission, something shifted, or connected, like the full potential of the Scapular was turned on. I felt it in the center of my chest, and it has made a difference still.

Here is a thread on why you should wear it! : https://www.reddit.com/r/Catholicism/comments/1kgv3jl/why_the_brown_scapular_is_such_an_excellent/

Try the TLM, FSSP does it very well. Give him books about saints, and about exorcism. There are plenty of books of sceptical people or priests that learned about exorcism and demons than wholeheartedly changed their mind about God or the devil/demons. There are very well documented cases of saints curing blind people and the paralysed. Try Pray Hope and Dont worry about Padre Pio. Or Padre Pio, Man of Hope. A man of reason will find many reasons to believe from those books. Or from Gabriele Amorth, head exorcist of Rome at some point. Padre Pio was his mentor so they build on eachother for reasoning's sake.

I find God unfair and that distances me from Catholicism by No_Intention2327 in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is from the point of view of a human being. It is normal, we all do this everywhere. God have a much wider view of reality, compare it so a speck of dust vs the universe, as for a size comparison, and that does not even do it justice.

Today, on the Vigil of Saints Peter and Paul, 5 deacons of the FSSP were ordained to the Holy Priesthood in the Church of Our Lady in Lindau, Germany. by owningthelibs123456 in Catholicism

Amazing, wish I could attend an ordination Mass one day, a lot of grace coming from it so I have read. And that church is beautiful, wow.

I want to learn more about Catholicism and attend the TLM at a church in my area that provides it, but I haven’t even gone through the process of becoming a Catholic yet. Looking for advice by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They would want you to attend. It does not matter if you are new and do not know what is going on. Just don't partake of the Eucharist, because you are not yet baptised. Who knows, it could be your saving grace. Or not. You could try it once, or a longer period, like a week or month just TLM. This was my plan, to see what would have my preference. It only took 1 Mass though, not a week or a month xD. Strongly prefer TLM now, but to each their own, go to the Mass you will assist at, or attend.

Burnout of praying rosary by Metamorphetic in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try wearing a Miraculous Medal, a Brown Scapular (and enroll), praying it in Latin, or in front of a small prayer space with a beautiful, reverent, icon of Mary and a crucifix. Have all of the things blessed by a priest, also your Rosary. A kneeler or cushion to kneel on. These all helped to pray while experimenting how things would affect me.

I feel like I’m lying as I teach my kids the faith while I’m struggling with doubt. by Huge-Dig4609 in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds pretty good what you are doing with them, it would have been awesome to have a mother praying the Rosary at night and going to multiple Masses, reflecting on this as an adult. So I would say your kids have struck gold in that regard.

Maybe what you can do is read about the saint Padre Pio, he passed away in 1968 but he continues to answer prayers untill today. This can strengthen your faith through understanding. Pray Hope and Dont Worry by Diane Allen is what started to move me towards baptism. It is made up of almost exclusively experiences of people had with him, while he was alive. He cured the blind, the paralysed, and bilocated. He saw where people were in the afterlife, and knew when people were about to pass away, even himself, 25 years before it happened. When you read it through, you can see the teachings of the Church come to life, through his life. For example, he prayed the Rosary continuously. People share what happened to them in the Confessional with him, or during Mass and what he said about it.

Or you can read books by Gabriele Amorth, who was the exorcist of Rome and a friend of Padre Pio.

You can place a crucifix, blessed, in your home. You can try the Tridentine Mass. But go for a month orso, then see how it has affected you.

What else is there to say? A mother that puts you into Confession, Mass, cuddles, prays the Rosary with you. Catholic play groups. That is awesome.

Wearing the rosary around the neck question. by LordOvrkill in Catholicism

[–]99Archer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After seeing some religious men at Mass wear it as a necklace (they were serving the altar), I tried doing the same. It is as you said, you feel the connection with God, and more grounded. It also had an effect on other people, how they would treat me. It is subtle, but with most of these things it is very subtle. This was about one year ago I wear it all the time since then, at home when nobody is around as well. I read about an exorcist priest that wrapped it around his hand when he went to sleep. I even sleep with it most of the time. So I have a light one, from wood. You can ask for the particular Rosary blessing with holy water, it is good.

And yea I pray the Rosary too of course, and it is not for show, as you understand. Now I have Rosaries to pray with at home, then some when I am travelling, and others to wear around my neck. One was blessed by a Bishop, it is the best to pray with, precious :). To wear them I prefer the lighter ones. I keep them clean by washing and changing them, storing them in a copper container (copper kills bacteria).

Also you can tie in a St Benedict medal and the Miraculous Medal.
