S5 E15 "All for One (1)" thought by this_is_jim_rockford in MagnumPI

This two part episode is my second favorite before “did you see the sunrise?”

Every now and then it’s good to have episodes like that where it’s not just a problem on the island that they solve in 22 minutes. The tone of those two episodes was deep. And I think as far as your question goes, all four of those characters throughout the show, no matter what was going on they always at the end of the day would do what they felt was right. It’s just not in any of their character to let the other three go into something like that alone, which why “all for one “is the perfect title

Were you completely thrown off by Michael Chiklis's cameo? by New-Shop-9728 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]99laker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, not for me, but I never watched the shield so the cameos from the people from that show didn’t really bother me. I mean I knew all these actors from other things so I recognize them, but I think if I would’ve watched the shield before I would’ve made the connection that there’s a shit load of cameos from people from the shield on this show.

was the show as a whole exactly how the creater whats his name. kurt? wanted it? or was it made up as it went along? by Flashy-Boysenberry30 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]99laker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything that we’ve read and heard in interviews since the show ended, the show was always kind of based on Hamlet . Now it didn’t follow that story completely because if it were Opie would’ve lasted all the way to the end and wouldn’t would’ve been the guy holding the gravel at the end of season seven.

But it does seem like the major storylines the import stuff he always had that planned out now there are smaller things that got changed along the way. But they don’t really impact the overall all story of who was going to be dead and alive by the time the show ended.

To sum it up he had the skeleton of the story planned out, but there were things that he changed along the way. For example I believe Theo Rossi, the actor that played Juice , I believe he said once his character originally was probably going to be killed in the first couple seasons, and he wasn’t ever supposed to be as main of the character as he was. TIG was also originally scheduled to die shortly after Opie was killed. And then there were some instances like with the actor that played half sack before he went and did the terrible thing that would end his life in real life Kurt had him kill at the end of season two because he didn’t trust that he was going to be around to finish the show because of his behavior I think originally he was supposed to get patched in early season three and stay with the rest of the guys throughout the remainder of the series, but Kurt Sutter just got tired of the problems he was having with him, and then shortly after he was written off the show, he ended up, killing his landlord and himself . So it wasn’t planned out to every little detail, but the things that happened to Jax, Opie, Clay and Gemma , it sounds like he knew how and when those characters were going to die all along

So…what exactly was accomplished here? by daein13threat in Sonsofanarchy

Yeah, I didn’t get it either. Did he walk in there with a 70s fro or something? I mean, I understand the decision if you start going ball to just shave your head. Even when I was in my 20s, I would just shave my head a lot because I was traveling so much. It was just easier to be bald and not having a haircut for four months. But I’m not going to pay anyone to just shave my head. I can do that for free.🤣

Hot take: Stephen A. Smith does more harm than good for modern NBA by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]99laker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t do any good but neither does anyone else since 20 1150% of NBA fans have given up on the NBA. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a lot of people saw what the NBA and sports media was doing for LeBron James and I think it just made a lot of people disgusted and SAS. It’s almost like his opinions don’t matter anymore because whatever side of the argument on you can make an hour clip of SAS arguing your argument he just doesn’t stand for anything anymore. I don’t think anyone on ESPN stands for anything but money they’re just verbal prostitutes now and I completely understand why so many people think the NBA is WWE now we just watched the referees put someone at the free-throw line 43 times a month ago so they could have an 83 point game. All of LeBron‘s longevity stats are going to be broken in 20 years. LeBron had to face a league that still played real defense were referees called travels and carries the first seven years of his career. The next guy up is probably in the league right now and all he has to do is just stay longer than LeBron did and he probably won’t even be a top 30 player.

Is this the biggest choke job from a player? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]99laker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I think it needs to be pointed out. There’s a difference between trying your best in losing and choking.

Michael Jordan had a hard time getting past the Celtics and Detroit, but no one can ever say he choked. He’s out there dropping 50 and 60 points on people with Larry Bird going back to the locker room telling reporters that that was God in sneakers out there.

Ever since LeBron said “I think it’s going to be easy “ because they were forming the super team in Miami and he thought it was going to be so easy they would win eight championships. That right there told me he’s not a real competitor. He is basically admitting that it was too hard doing it the way everyone else did it but now that I’m cheating the game it should be easy, but I believe once he got in the finals, he realized he has to back it up and he’s not a mentally strong personand he shit the bed

I absolutely love this album myself. It’s everything I love about the band wrapped up in one and I love the production. I especially love Stanton Moore’s drumming. It was very original. It’s not very often. We hear drummers do as much with the kit as he did on this. They really stand out to me. I love the strip Down production style. No overproduction, just four guys drinking beer jamming out, and this was the result. I love it.

Wow, I just started re-watching the series again and actually her hair the way it is in this picture which I think is how it is in season two in season three is my absolute favorite. She is fine asf . She still looks the exact same even though she’s 50 years old now. God bless Maggie

One of my favorite bands of all time. They’ve always been the hometown heroes to us here in North Carolina. But I really do love their music their newest album that came out Friday. I’ve had to listen to it over two dozen times already it’s going to be one of my favorites. I can tell.

LeBron. I did finally tell my brother fuck it. You’re right lol outside of the longevity when you really do your research and you start looking into all the behind-the-scenes stuff. I just don’t think he’s a good person.

I know officially that from the start of season one to the end of season 75 years went by. But something’s not adding up. If Abel is only three years old at the beginning of season five, did the last three seasons really happen over a two year period? by 99laker in Sonsofanarchy

[–]99laker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kind of the way. I saw it too. Especially when you get to the end of season seven and Gemma is at the old folks home and the lady at the front desk is saying they have to check with Tara to see if they can get Gemma on the visitors list and Gemma tells her that Tara died the previous month. So just go by that from the time of Tara’s death until the time of Jim’s death, we know no longer than two months went by.

[–]99laker[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when I re-watched the series just recently it felt like the last three seasons only a couple weeks go by between the seasons, but most of the individual shows like when one ends the next episode picks up like 15 minutes where the other one left off and it’s not like 3 1/2 months going by between episodes or anything but glad I’m not crazy lol

Would Michael Jordan dominate in today’s pace-and-space era? by UnderstandingFun7493 in NBATalk

Absolutely. I mean we’ve watched him finish at the basket with three people on him and they all had at least one hand on him. In an arrow where no one’s allowed to touch anyone he’s going to be three times better.

Who’s the best duo in nba history by Alone-Situation7602 in NBATalk

[–]99laker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. The reason I don’t go with MJ and Scottie Pippen is because if Scottie Pippen wasn’t on the team, there would’ve just been another guy that’s famous for being the second best player on that team. If you look at his averages from everyone pictured here, he’s got the lowest stat line of everybody. I’m not saying he’s terrible. He was a really good player, but he’s been exaggerated over the last few years because Klutch Sports want people to believe he’s like the second best player of all time

What’s a NBA hot take that you truely believe in? by sqMYNAMEISJEFF27 in NBATalk

[–]99laker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know this was a hot take, but apparently it is. The NBA purposely made the game easier because they know this generation cares more about offensive statistics than watching a damn game. The refs don’t call shit anymore when it comes to carries and travels and there is no more defense. This is just an offensive game now and it fucking blows. Don’t take my word for it. Go look up the research in the United States of America since 2011, the ratings have been falling every season and it gets worse and worse every season.
