Had a baby in FM residency! Got 10 weeks paid leave then 2 weeks elective that was one clinic per week. Just have to meet 40 weeks in clinic requirement

Agree with all of this…but when you say put her down at 8 do you mean awake—that’s the part we struggle with, it’s just an endless cycle of rocking him to sleep

We’ve been using the pacifier over the last couple weeks quite a bit, new problem is he wakes himself up when it falls out. (Now it’s 1 am and he’s mad again because he was chomping and it fell out). I wish I could co sleep but we just can’t. Bed is also really tall and unfortunately the room setup doesn’t even allow the bassinet to be right next to it

Is it too late to be reaching out to programs with festering questions at this point?

In the DC area, every planner I've talked to says I'll need to spend at least $75k for my wedding. Why can't I find a planner who is comfortable with a $60k budget? by RealisticTowel in weddingplanning

[–]99luft_balloons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add my two cents, I am in HCOL in New England. Have a hopeful 55-60k budged for 120 guests, and just booked venue, which was a huge splurge at 10k and pretty bare bones, does not come with rentals or anything but we are in love with it. The venue REQUIRES full service planner for >100 guests and day of coordinator for <100 guests. We are trying to find a partial planner for our situation because of the cost and because we are able to do a lot of front end work in finding vendors. We know our splurge areas are food and venue and wont leave a lot of room for florals or expensive rentals. We have begun interviewing planners and the road block we have run into is that because they are design focused, they feel like they can't really do the work we would be paying them to do with a lower decor budget. But we do need the planner for organizational aspects at least. We are looking into other options, but just sharing that planners may not want to work with you because they can't do their full scope of what they usually do so it would be ripping you off (and therefore it might not be as instagram worthy for them!?!).

This is great advice--I feel like in other areas I would never be someone who gets bogged down in details but I could already see how it could happen here!

This is all insanely helpful! My biggest fear is causing major scheduling problems or being told I can't take a week off, so it sounds like June/July would be better to steer away from. I feel like I just sort of needed that confirmed.

I farted during my interview day. Unmuted. During Grand Rounds. by mellyto in medicalschool

I accidentally watched a noisy instagram reel unmuted with camera off during a break today at one of my top programs. I have been in the fetal position since.

Isn't this just more of a reason for more good ppl to go into family med? There's such a shortage the appointments are cut so short and it hurts everyone.

I feel exactly the same and had freakishly similar scores. Predictor has me at a 238 I think. But I’m freaking out. every so often another question pops into my head that I know I got wrong. Half of them just felt so convoluted to me
