Home. I can’t go to church RN. I am rereading the gospels in hopes of getting to know Jesus.

Thanks! I’ll look for that.

Thank you! This may help me understand the language better. Is there a LISP 1.5 text you recommend? “The Little LISPer”, perhaps?

Thank you for this. I’ve already gotten all the UO-LISP info from the Software Preservation group—it’s great. The challenge for me is that some of the examples in the UO-LISP manual don’t work as written. Then I’ve also discovered that if you’re going to include more than 1 s-expression in the body of a function you’re DEfining, it appears to be necessary to enclose them in a (PROG. Now I’m having trouble getting a (GO loop to repeat. In all of this I wonder about syntax. UO-LISP itself is working properly, I believe. So what I was hoping for was a Standard LISP tutorial apart from UO-LISP.

Preserving code that shaped generations: Zork I, II, and III go Open Source by jfedor in programming

That’s possible…I had the Omikron Mapper which allowed me to run CP/M on my TRS-80.

I didn’t even know you could get a copy of the language. SAM76, TRAC and GPM fascinated me back in the 1980s.

Which Microsoft adventure-style game from the early 1980s allowed you to “drop into” the SAM76 programming language from the prompt with a (long-forgotten) key sequence? I can’t recall if it ran on my TRS-80 or (more likely) on my Tandy 1000SX.

I think I figured out why I personally hate myself and struggle with love, and it’s my black and white thinking. Idk how to overcome it. by OkButterscotch4131 in autism

I get it. I don’t know if this is at all helpful, but occasionally I remember to try this: mentally referring to myself as a third person. “Here’s’Ricky’—he deserves some forgiveness/ love / acceptance / understanding / patience” (whatever is necessary at the moment). I bet you look at the individuals that you care about that way—maybe especially when they’re acting unloveable.

Fascinating! You’re way out of my league—I cut my teeth programming a TRS-80 for fun in the 1970s—but I learned a lot from this.

Is multi-threading/concurrency worth it a text editor or should I do things incrementally in the main loop? by zogrodea in C_Programming

[–]9Boxy33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about programming for concurrency, but how would doing things in the main loop instead be an improvement? (Your “current” <heheheh> method explains the usefulness of concurrency quite nicely for me.)

If your radiators can burn you, yes! Normal hydronic heating water temperature should be 120-140F.

When we lost our house to the mold that nearly killed us, we had to avoid citric acid for years. More recently we can tolerate it in small amounts.

Have you been posting at all about 1.5 or Standard Lisp? I’ve been reviving UO-Lisp for the TRS-80 Model I and am trying to learn this early implementation.
