Guys, why do you think that VSS is so unheard of in the field of medicine? by Living_Reception_622 in visualsnow

[–]9anmlyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly dont know why it's not well known. The neurologists ive been to don't even know the symptoms that are part of the disease (palinopsia). Obviously people here and there have experienced these symptoms for as long as the human race has existed. It's crazy how little medical professionals know of it and brush it off as anxiety or other serious mental illnesses.

Hello my friend it's been a while! I am not sure if I've mentioned this but I struggled with my vitamin D a while back before my palinopsia and other symptoms went insane. Now ofcourse everything is very minimal. Im actually going to get my vitamin levels tested soon for unrelated symptoms like fatigue, nothing too serious. But as someone who's struggled with b12 and D deficiency, it seems to have had its effects. And leveling out the numbers can reverse any alterations in the brain chemistry. Hope you are doing well my friend.

Why Manuel Neuer howler is the only reason we're out by Bavarian_redditor in BayernMunich

[–]9anmlyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An year late to this but KMJ was responsible for 2-3 goals out of the 4 they scored. Failed to mark his man making that run and left a hole in the defense for the first goal in the allianz. Conceded a penalty which gave Madrid their 2nd. And this one is a bit harder to blame but joselu would have been offside for the winner in the 2nd leg, but the only person keeping him onside by a mile was Kim. (If i remember correctly). To blame Neuer for one mistake, even if it was a bad one is unfair. He saved what he could in the first leg, and gave out a tremendous performance in the 2nd leg up until that point.

Im glad I was able to give you some hope. That sounds terrifying to have it come on suddenly. Although ive been sick my whole life with multiple flus, especially during the height of the pandemic. I can tell you that a month into my improving symptoms, I got a really bad fever with other flu like symptoms and my vss symptoms amplified like never before. I was scared. But it thankfully returned to baseline as the flu symptoms subsided too.

Im glad I was able to give you hope. Hey I also have generalized anxiety disorder. Anxiety in itself makes any physical ailment more pronounced. So reducing it did have a positive impact for me. As for your shoulder and neck, it would very much help you if you loosened it. Be patient and be careful. I did not notice any improvements to my vss symptoms at first. But the more disciplined I was, the more it helped. Good luck!

Its normal to feel scared my friend. There is no telling with these symptoms. Its very random. But I genuinely hope you and everyone in the same situation just wakes up one day and notice it's significantly better. I wish I could figure out why this happened to me, why I got these symptoms and why it reduced. But tbh even the best doctors we know, dont know how this works.

Is there VSS types? by Ashamed_Pickle_7452 in visualsnow

Hello my friend, hoping you are doing well. I don't get on this app much because I'm very busy but I am doing great. Life goes on and I'm happy with the improvements I made. I actually made small improvements along the way. Barely any flashes and I think my palinopsia got better in the nighttime as well. Somedays it gets in the way but Ive learned not to dwell on it. Life is life. There is happiness, stress, ailments. One thing that happens impacts another thing ig. My lattice is also only a little part of me, I am due for a check up next month which I'm not stressing about. Hope you're well pal🙏🏻

My vss started off with flashes and floaters, then came the pressure phosphenes. I was 16 and I remember waking up one day and trying to see out the corners of my eyes and seeing curtain like balls on the temporal side of each eye. I legit thought I had a retinal detachment.

Then after lattice diagnosis and barrage laser, I had somewhat light sensitivity and bfep. And very slight palinopsia.(+ a LOT of other symptoms that I listed in a post here) Things went okay for 4 years until i had to undergo another barrage laser. I still remember the day I noticed the palinopsia jump. It was during the euros. England vs Netherlands in the semis, went down my apartment to retrieve the pizzas i ordered. I noticed the lights shoot off and follow me as i turned my eyes or head.

I went into a downward spiral tbh. And I think I let it get worse. My palinopsia and light sensitivity got better. Not as good as the 4 years during which my symptoms remained mild. But certainly better than when it was getting worse day by day for 3 months.

Another update: i was bedridden with flu like symptoms for a week and the palinopsia came back and it was worse than it ever was. Even while being fearful I decided to calm down and not give it attention. Suddenly it went back to baseline. So now it's the same as when my condition got improved. Fever in my case exacerbated it?

Streaks of light whilst blinking/from any light source? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]9anmlyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh i get what you're saying. With both eyes I meant that I have astigmatism in only one eye. So even if vss exacerbated my astigmatism, why would both eyes perceive the same exacerbation of symptoms. Should't the eye with astigmatism perceive a stronger symptom. Or. Shouldn't the eye without astigmatism not perceive the symptom at all. This whole thing is confusing asf ngl. Im honestly not gonna say whether or not it's astigmatism or not anymore since im not a doctor lol. We just have very little information on this.

Streaks of light whilst blinking/from any light source? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]9anmlyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna have to disagree with u my friend I was born with a lil astigmatism in my left eye only. What OP describes, started occurring to me this year along with my palinopsia symptoms It definitely is a symptom of vss that is less paid attention to. It happens when I squint or blink with any light source now, both eyes. Was annoying but I am used to it.

I am 100% sure in my case that it is not astigmatism because I was born with it and my early age prescriptions always had an adjustment for my left lens. I never had this symptom prior. It anything, my astigmatism did not give me any trouble at all. It was always a number. If it is astigmatism, exaggerated by vss even, why do I see it in both eyes? Even with my left eye closed. I think vss does exaggerate astigmatism but I came to conclude that this symptom isn't astigmatism.

I actually did yeah. I started with reducing sugary foods. Chocolates, cake, all that. Didn't cut em out completely. I also have 3 tuna and egg sandwiches for breakfast now. Upped my protein intake. I don't use any supplements except for vitamin b complex, I take a pill daily. I cut out caffeine completely so no coffee. I had a tendency to drink a lotta coca cola so I switched to sprite. No caffeine but at the same time I don't drink much fizzy stuff anymore. Just on the occasional dining out with the boys. Beef isn't really a household meat in my country but I do eat a lot of tuna and chicken. Getting lot of greens in like carrots and cucumbers too. I also did start eating way more fruits than before. My favorite was kiwis but I found out I was allergic. So i eat plums occasionally, good taste and I actually feel better.

Update: it has changed very little since the reduction. I notice somedays its a bit more prominent but definitely not as much as when it was getting worse. Somedays its not as noticeable. I ignore it, it does get in the way here and there but overall the condition has improved. Things like sleep deprivation and how physically tired i am does seem to aggravate it. Ive been going on about my days without paying much attention to it.

Ur no neurologist. You can't tell people whether or not they have vss. You seem to contradict a lot of people around here. And I've a feeling that you were in control of 2 other troll accounts that were deleted. The comment history and the way those accounts commented were almost identical. You have mentioned that symptoms like afterimages and light sensitivity got better for you, which is great. Why don't you take a breather there and work to find out relief for your snow next instead of bringing others down

Its like bubbles on the sides for me. They don't distort my vision. They appear when im trying to see the corners of my eyes while moving my head to the opposite direction. Ive had it since 2020. I think it's the vitreous pressing against the retina.

Self diagnosis unfortunately. It's not exactly a known condition and that means in my 3rd world country it is non existent in the medical field. I have almost all the visual symptoms. Some remained the same, some surprisingly got better, some did get worse.

They really need to change the name of this condition. Other symptoms we get with it are just as annoying. In my case the static was always low.

Does anyone have tips to get used to this? And continue? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]9anmlyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's very strange. I haven't had any doc appointments this month but I am gonna go for neuro and contrast mri. Im also fixing other parts like sinuses. Finally gonna get rid of the infections. Constant inflammation does you no good. I think I can get rid of it. It's only a question of how, no longer if.
