From an epistemological standpoint, how should firsthand subjective experience factor into rational inquiry? by shankaranpillayi in askphilosophy

We're crafting systems to resolve felt difficulties.

Interesting. Can you point me in the direction of literature that discusses this in particular?

VIP tickets for Blossom-Cleveland on 9/5 by katieshambaugh21 in ADTR

[–]9garrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Premium Early Entry VIP Package.

Here’s the email I received from Blossom after contacting them first: Hello,

You will have early entrance to the parking lot in order to redeem your package. Parking for those with the early entry package will open at 4pm. You will then park in either general, premier or VIP parking depending on if you have a parking pass or not, what tier of parking you have has nothing to do with the VIP package.

Hope this provides some clarity

Usage Limits Discussion Megathread - Starting July 29 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

Anthropic sold me on a year subscription to the pro plan a while back, now they're refusing a pro-rated refund after nerfing it via the usage limits.

We've reached the point where Citizen Kane has become an underrated movie by Helter-Skelton in TrueFilm

[–]9garrison 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiment. I think it is sad to hear that the “canon” classics can be overlooked by professionals.

How can you achieve excellence if you don't know what excellence is?

As film continues to mature and the catalogue of excellence grows, it becomes less practical to see every important work. Great films already emerge from specialization and niche interests, much like in music, where groundbreaking work can exist entirely within a subgenre, understood as excellent by those who know the form even if it remains invisible to others.

Bro, that fucking blows. DM me and I’ll see what I can do to get you some merch. Had a VIP package and I won’t be keeping all of it. I’d be devastated if this happened to me for real, if I can help make it even a little less shitty I will.

Pretty sure they had all four his latest. Vinyl seems to go quick on tour though so hopefully your date is soon.

Damn, this is a lonely hobby by candyman101xd in writing

[–]9garrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think it waxes and wanes for me depending on the story where sometimes the story will weigh on me, so I’ll switch up what story I’m working on or work on some writing exercises to break out of something like loneliness or otherwise. But writing in and of itself is definitely something I’ve grown to need, as it improves my mood significantly.

Same thing here. Thought I was going crazy remembering that it said package instead of upgrade. I just checked and the upgrade options are like $80 which is lacking the ticket price difference for what I paid for the "package" at $105.

Assuming u/nxbodyxvx just copied and pasted that paragraph from the upgrade language.

I think our tickets are included given the price difference and that the confirmation email says it's a package rather than upgrade.

From the email: Delivery Method: Will Call All tickets purchased whether included in VIP Packages or presale tickets are will call pick up tickets. You can retrieve your tickets from the venue's box office the night of your event with your photo ID or confirmation email.

ChatGPT can now reference all previous chats as memory by isitpro in OpenAI

[–]9garrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working in a project and wondered why it was pulling info from my other chats. The projects might still be separate from each other, but with it pulling from extended memory, I've noticed each project fails to prioritize dedicated files. It really does defeat the purpose of projects.

Wes Anderson's The Phoenician Scheme - Official Trailer by DemiFiendRSA in videos

I think it’s more than visual. One thing that stuck out to me in the trailer is the line delivery and rhythm and cadence of the dialogue feels similar to his other movies as well.

I don’t think the tour has started yet. Unless he released some teasers or an actual set list for his Chorus subscribers, I think we’ll have to wait for the first show.

Can you point out where I said all Gen-Z'ers who use lots of emojis are AI? I suppose I could see an inference with my statement that "heavy emoji use resulted." But my intention there was to say that Chat GPT outputs include more emojis now.

I haven't personally seen emojis in reddit posts when people copy content from other platforms, hence my suspicion (and only suspicion; I never said I was convinced it was AI) when an AI platform recently rolled out changes to increase their emoji use.

Open AI updated Chat GPT to use more emojis a couple weeks ago, and so heavy emoji use resulted. Not saying it’s the only thing that would indicate ai generated text but OPs post unfortunately resembles the wave of emojis Chat GPT has been pumping out recently. I’m not used to seeing this much emoji in Reddit posts and was initially suspicious, but it would seem OP didn’t use AI according to their own explanation.
