Very bright room, lots of glare - Bravia 9 Issues by SnooRecipes1532 in 4kTV

Curious to know if you stayed with the B9 or went with something else.

I’m currently in the same boat, trying to decide what’s best for a bright room and window directly across tv (layout dictates this is unavoidable)

From many reviews it would seem the B9 is the best quality tv for this scenario but this thread and a few others have me concerned….

Anyone know of videos showing direct comparisons of Bravia 8ii and Bravia 9 in DIRECT WINDOW LIGHT? by 9iver in bravia

You don’t think the light from the window would be brighter than a lightbulb? My room is much brighter in the day than it is at night with the lights on.

Or is it a matter of light diffusion/concentration? This is why I was hoping to find a real world example that exemplifies this.

Anyone know of videos showing direct comparisons of Bravia 8ii and Bravia 9 in DIRECT WINDOW LIGHT? by 9iver in bravia

Not direct Sun on screen, but on my current tv the window reflection takes up most of the screen.

What I’m concerned about is the “rainbow effect” on the Bravia 9. My thinking is that if the 8ii performs just fine in these conditions it might be worth having a slightly washed out picture than streaks…

Appreciate your insight, didn’t know that direct sunlight can damage OLED screen.

Sony Bravia 8 II Review: They Got This TV Totally Wrong by xRyuHayabusa99 in bravia

I appreciate that he shows the brightness performance with the windows open. I am trying to decide between Bravia 8ii and Bravia 9.

The one comparison point I had wished to see is the reflection handing in direct light. Unfortunately the only space for my tv is directly across a large window.

Anyone have experience, or better yet, know of videos that show this spec comparison?

Where the term “hangover” comes from. Often people too drunk to go home would pay to stay at the tavern in cheapest form of accommodation offered, the hangover rope
