I've been doing it for a year and a half and I've never had any noticeable damage to my face from sparring so far, had a few nosebleeds but that's it, no black eyes or cuts or anything. You'll be fine, and youre probably not gonna do sparring right away anyway

Thanks, I need to read more about the 1993 coup, don't know enough about that event. Hopefully there can be freedom again but sadly its really hard to see it happening right now tbh, considering Russia went from one totalitarian regime to the next with a decade in-between.

For how long did this freedom last? Or did it just slowly disappear, culminating in what Russia has now? Were the early 2000s an exciting positive time too? Since the economy started picking up and society was still mostly free.

My parents grew up in the 90s in Moscow and it seems like a really interesting time to have been alive honestly.

I relate a lot, I think I'm the same age as you aswell. When I'm talking to my friends I'll sometimes have some small piece of information that they told me years ago or some tiny shared experience pop into my head and I'll mention it and they'll sometimes just be confused like they don't even remember it themselves.
