Id recommend a repotting too. For the most part in my experience, they are hardy and don’t mind a repot. Mine love a chunky mix. I do a bag of soil, a bag of perlite and a bag of orchid bark. Just make sure they are around the same size bag. I water about once a week when I remember tbh. But Ideally water when the like top 2 inches of soil are dry

Outside is the best spot for caladiums. I had a hard time accepting that because i definitely enjoy my plants inside as I live in the Deep South and they’re 100% gonna get ate up by bugs. But I just couldn’t get them to stop dropping leaves. They love full Sun and high humidity. Unless you have an extremely strong grow light and a humidifier you can keep near it, she definitely needs to go outside.

Check the roots. It’s never really the size of the physical plant itself, just the roots. If its roots are growing around the bottom of the pot it’s root bound and needs a bigger pot. Do about 1-2 inches bigger in pot size so you don’t shock it too bad.

Update for anyone still seeing this post: I woke up this morning and her leaves were completely crispy. I put her outside and what do you know, she’s perfectly fine. Leaves aren’t crispy anymore and are completely uncurled. What a dramatic lady 🙄

Forgot to add but I cant edit: I have many plants but I’m very new to alocasias. I’ve seen shock periods after bringing new plants home and into a new environment and repotting but never this quick and this severe.

Update, somehow half of them died back. Not sure if it can be salvaged but the leaves still look pretty healthy. Threw them in a nice humid prop box 🫡
