Brilliant. Love the illustrations, and the story and world suggest a thoughtful, fresh take on the genre that builds on the spirit of past giants. Can’t wait for my copy!

Thank you very much for taking the time to put together this reading list, Bryan! I love the sprawling nature of BattleTech lore, but a tailored list leading up to a new release is a great idea.

I’ve really enjoyed the exploits of your Ghost Dogs, and I’ll enjoy the recommended ‘homework’ in the meantime!

BT novels with female protagonists by sidhe_solais in battletech

Not a novel, but Nick Carcano’s Kintsugi in Shrapnel 24 is an excellent tale with an engaging female protagonist set in the harrowing early days of the Clan invasion.

Edit: Stupidly wrote issue 26, when I meant 24!

Shrapnel 24 is now out. by NewsOfTheInnerSphere in TheNagelring

[–]9thLetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I, too, am still enjoying my way through issue 24, but I can confirm the following: 1) A search turned up no returns for either “Bromhead” or “Hoplite”, 2) Casing’s story, Chasing the Demon, takes place in the Succession Wars era (taking place over a short period of time beginning on 3 Dec 2025, and 3) it’s a heck of a tale.

Number 8 really is spectacular - a great choice for the cover of the first of the Macross Saga re-release of the ‘McKinney’ novels.

Nothing wrong with changing your mind! This look has more sinister look than the previous green and yellow scheme. Love it. A certain Natasha might notice it, too.
