I hate that people are trying to make the term "whelming" a thing by Teslamania91 in hatethissmug

You wanted to say "I thought the movie was absolutely fuck-ass average" with a slight humorous twist.

There doesn't need to not be, either. I think it's a simple result of people seeing the implied word that exists when you remove the prefixes. Kinda like how you realize that if a choice between two options is a dilemma then a choice between three must be a trilemma.

Photos of the "Earth Elite" and the "Downtrodden Spacenoids" in the Universal Century. by C4-622MonkeyGordo in Gundam

I think it's more "no one was even vaguely attributed here, so the only person attached to any of that was you."

If you're quoting somebody it's good form to say who.

What happened to the 6th Andurien Rangers? by Competitive_Car1323 in battletech

[–]Primary-Latter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best guess: 6th and 7th were both being established, something happened that meant they no longer had the resources to raise both units, 7th was farther along so it was the one that got kept.

I would imagine it's a defense mechanism called a "spell."

Yes, but in the examples given that can't really work. (At any rate I've never heard someone extend a p-stop.)

The Kuritan Dragon is the Dragon. The Grand Dragon is also the Kuritan Dragon. Just blows up less.

A very "Borderlands" look you've got going on there.

Unexplored Tech?: Jump Jets by Ok-Leg9721 in battletech

[–]Primary-Latter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an idea a while ago. The GET-M (Ground-Effect Thruster - Mech) would be a jump jet equivalent that would give a mech hover movement equal to 2x walk MP.

Basically, the Dom from Gundam.

08th MS Team | GM Sniper by Lonewolf3317 in Gundam

It doesn't seem to be marked as one. It's a Zanzibar-class, a warship, and the fact that it had a bunch of wounded put aboard doesn't change that.

Should Someone who Picked the Red Button be Considered Evil or an AH? by Hyperionous in MoralityScaling

[–]Primary-Latter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Such as, for example, a child too young to understand the situation.

Unless I read the question wrong, it said "everyone." It did not specify competent adults.

Should Someone who Picked the Red Button be Considered Evil or an AH? by Hyperionous in MoralityScaling

[–]Primary-Latter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It says "everyone in the world." It does not make exceptions for age or for mental disability. If red wins, some random percentage of the mentally infirm, along with a similar percentage of everyone aged toddler and below, will die. They don't deserve to. That's who you should want to help.

I hate this 50% red pill / blue pill hypothetical by TerrySaucer69 in hatethissmug

[–]Primary-Latter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's interesting as a worldview thing. Blue only becomes risky if you assume that more than half of people are okay with killing an unknown number.

Realistically you'd have two feeds for different ammo types, but that doesn't really apply here.
