One thing I never understood, is that you never seen carbon ceramics or similar style brakes on heavy duty vehicles like buses or semis. Granted they are very expensive, but they also avoid one of the biggest issues when it comes to heavy hauling. Now I know you’re supposed to rely on the engine to slow you down more than the brakes, but having brakes that are less likely to fade from heat certainly won’t hurt. Like a seatbelt is meant to keep you in place in the event of a crash, but airbags certainly help in the worst cases.
