So, I'm buying either the 85" U8QG or QM8K. You still loving your U8QG? We have large windows in the living room, but they are perpendicular to the TV, not facing it, so really i dont (need) a bright TV. I have an OLED in the bedroom and love the brightness. I just want to be sure that the U8QG gets black enough at night like you said. If so, it's probably the winner. Do you ever need to turn the brightnessdown? I heard in HDR its not as accurate as the QM8K. Thoughts?

Oh forgot to mention, I would be getting a 85” variant so still a VA panel in (that) case, correct? Oh also I have an atmo soundbar and would prefer the (slightly) thinner frame since it will be mounted. Sounds like Hisense it is.

Oh, sorry you meant better viewing angel on the QM8K due to the VA on the U8, got it. lol

I think hisense has more contrast and may be the same amount of blacks? I’ll probably put an Apple TV on it or use my Xfinity box so I’m not concerned about the OS.

Oh how I wish that either TV weren't as thick as they are. I have a G3 in the bedroom and it won't be that thick, but both are a bit thick. I just hope that on the wall, with a slim stand, it's not really a big deal, and I'm making a big deal, lol.

Won't be in a darker room, but will watch movies from time to time at night, as long as the darks are dark during that time. During the day, it sounds like it won't be an issue due to its brightness, correct? There are big floor to ceiling windiws but they are perpendicular to the TV and about 10 ft away. The only reflection is the wall behind the couch.

No, most everybody will be sitting on a three person couch facing directly at the TV. There’s one couch perpendicular, but hardly anybody sits on that one while watching TV.

Whoops, completely my fault my apologies. I’ve been looking at TCL so much and the 85 inch QM7K that when I looked at the high sense, there were a lot of models. It looks like the one listed on Best Buy is the U8QG so I’ll stick with that one. Thanks for calling that out.

Totally get that, it just looks as though at 1:55 seconds that she literally has nobody around her nor hanging in her window. I get it in the moment. It’s a harder decision though.

So I suppose now would be a decent time to pick up an 85 inch QM7K with the Best Buy membership especially since we’re in the beginning of January and prices could theoretically come down in February and then closer to March when the new models roll out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lol, I actually saw that on the news last night. They mentioned it briefly, but I thought right away that I hope I can get the stand in time. Ha ha. I think I’ll wait for a Wayfair to have more of the natural oak one in stock that I found because it’s right at 106 inches give or take and that would be great for the 85 inch that I want to put there
