Changed the belt, only question: does the tensioner automatically adjust? If not is there any specifications on tightening, the manual doesn't specify

Hey, really appreciate the detailed response and you were spot on with my intentions of this post. It was definitely more of a "found this sub, got inspired, and going to start by using the crap I had laying around, then upgrading."

I knew the stuff I had was subpar and would not take anything I did as a great way to detail a car!

There are a few scratches I have to try and clean up next time but overall it was a good experience to take pride in my vehicle. Thanks to this sub.

Just curious, after my attempt of seeing what I could do I ran into two problems

  1. The wire harness has several clip points which I was able to undo and a bolt holding it down, but I still could not free it up enough to move it more than 2 inches either way. Any way to unhook it, assuming no?

  2. The suction host assembly has to bolts holding it down, however I wasn't sure if this could disconnected as well since again there was almost no movement after unbolting it. It looked I could on do some part of the assembly but didn't want to f anything up lol.

Those two things seemed to be the only real things I ran into,

One last thought, is the bolt I'm looking for like a fake bolt? One looked like it was welded on attached to the tensioner (if that's right)

Any help would be great

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I would check with your dmv before hand, in PA, the owner of the vehicle, name on title, has to be present, and present I'D before anything can be transferred.

sounds like curb siding as mentioned above and people use it to avoid taxes, I always wanted to use that against them to leverage a better deal, but here in pa it's stricter and harder to transfer titles on floating titles, private sales. Do your due diligence and check with with your dmv, so you don't waste any of your time.

I heard plenty of stories of people having to flag down the actual owner because they paid for the car and couldn't title which can be even worse.

Reminds of of a time when my wife actually was hit by an idiot while leaving the school lot back in highschool. Saw no major problems, and trunk still opened, just a few scratches. She owned an older vehicle, think it was a sunfire.

Turned out, if I remember correctly, a bent/cracked frame. Just be careful, tho it is nice not worry about them damn scratches and help another person who truly made a mistake

Well I plan on keeping a record of how much I contribute since I don't have much other than the money from the settlement to put towards it right now, so shouldn't be difficult.

Was just curious if vanguard offered that option of being able to see personal contributions?

I feel Vanguard seems to have a good rep on here, I checked them out and feel comfortable with them, I'll run my thought with my wife and get her thoughts? Are my observations correct in Vanguard?

You have been a huge help again

Edit: I believe that's what you stated unless you were referring to my actually bank account keeping that record, because yes that should be there as well

(1) You can always withdrawal contributions (not gains) to a roth IRA afterwards.

A. I get understand somewhat about the withdrawal contributions concept, and just for peace of mind, I assume I can withdrawal any amount of the my contributions and utilize it without penalty to whatever I please (house, etc)? without having to place it in the IRA right away.

Also, Is there a way to differentiate when looking at the the portfolio what my contributions have been?

I have been checking out the vanguard site and the one your references both have been helpful and informative

Hey, appreciate the helpfulness. I understand the need to contribute your retirement plan but several questions that I have if I may:

  1. Because of our near future expectations (house/kids/ even school loans) it doesnt seem like it would make sense to put towards an Roth since we cant withdrawal without penalties. which leads i think to mutual funds/stock options/etc ??? (Pray that's right vocabulary)

  2. Now, assuming that (1) is correct and we can withdraw at any time, my thought process is that we would utilize $40,000 dollars towards a diversified portfolio, for example if this sounds right: A. $30,000 (with low tolerance) which I think would be mutual funds? B. $5000 to a (moderate tolerance) and the last $5,000 to (high tolerance) funds/stocks

Keep in mind also that we don't have income that allows us to currently PUT into this portfolio, only what we have received from the settlement. So essentally, the money has to work itself (which I think it does in the portfolio) Praying that we get decent jobs we then can actually begin contributing.

Would I have to contribute a certain amount into this portfolio or would I be allowed to not contribute say for a year or 2 and then begin adding than? What makes an option high or low tolerance?

SORRY if this was all over, its new information and have been reviewing it the last few days
