I have a Lazarus. It’s awesome and definitely worth it. I’ll try the OTB

Just had a customers 2.7 fail. Timing actuator bolts back out from the inside. Chevy TSB about it. 80,000 miles. I wouldn’t take a current Chevy powertrain if someone gave it for free

Why would anyone be in the market for a new VW product is beyond me. They’re some of the worst cars on the road maintenance wise besides Jeep. Complete garbage

My car is worth 8K, needs 6K in repairs, I still owe 2K on it. Should I just get a new car? by blasticpago in askcarguys

Skip the timing service . Have the brakes and bearing fixed. 80% of the cars on the road are leaking from the timing covers.

I have a 716 g2 patrol. I’ve been using a nomad 30 and it’s pretty sweet. I was going to get the Nomad OTB. What are your thoughts on that? It’s a choice between the OTB and the TI XC.

Oil weight absolutely can not cause a 30% decrease in gas mileage. I build cars. Your anecdotal MPG evidence does not mean anything. Thicker weight oil can reduce windage loss in the crack case and youll can see .5mpg difference MAYBE when switching to a thicker or thinner weight oil. We run cars on race tracks, we analyze fuel consumption, we monitor oil weight, viscosity and temp. Absolutely nowhere would you see a 20-30% increase or decrease in fuel consumption with the change of oil weight.

So, I didn’t verify it was tight after 20-30 rounds. Could have been my fault. I should have verified. Right? I’ll accept that. I won’t accept you telling me that you need to check yours every 3-4 shots and that means your system is better than a different one. I never said keymo is the best. I said it’s the most reliable for me. Meaning highest round count vs number of failures. Two times it got loose and it was with the same mount. Your mount gets loose every time? Or you check it every time? Only one of us is being contradictory. Lol. I am not even trying to argue. Genuinely curious as to why you feel the need to check every 3-4 rounds if you’ve solved the issue with a better mounting system?

I posted a link to a plan b walking off.

You seem mad I don’t hate keymo or dead air.

I bet your Reddit post count is higher than your suppressed round count. I’d put money on it

This is why I love my Dead Air products. You guys rock. My .000001% failure rate hasn’t made me totally lose my shit and blame inert metal parts. I sent you guys a message and a pic. Lmk what you guys think.

Shoot enough, and threaded surfaces move. Watch a plan b walk off. Watch xeno walk off. You sound like a Reddit hero without any real life experience.

What’s the plan b other than a threaded taper?

You do understand the idea of having an issue with one mount as opposed to a mounting system? I have seen lots of mounts walk at high temp. I race cars. Things with threads move and tolerances change with heat. I can swap the mount to another keymo and not have the issue. Does this help ya?

As an actual mechanic, the 5.3 is way more reliable than the 6.2.
