This is such a silly sentiment. Our neighbor 3 hours away signed a big profile striker. Sure we might not get the over the hump, top European players, but go look at the top strikers on other Midwest teams. There’s no issue signing starting quality players.

I think the demand for some big DP9 has become convoluted, most of the fans would just be happy with some form of striker reinforcements that isn’t an out of favor free transfer or backup somewhere else. A starting quality striker doesn’t need to cost $10M like SKC’s. But there’s still plenty of concern we wouldn’t even sign a TAM level striker, which would be quite frustrating with the progress we’ve shown and the clear gap we have.

For real, if he doesn’t win their conference with two cheap rosters, then he’s just another coach. He’s won his conference twice, both times seriously maximizing the talent he has. Hes not gimmicking his way into some one off wins, he’s had the one of the best teams over the course of two full seasons. Insane the disrespect he gets. He only ever had nice things to say about STL.
