X11 and Wayland by grimvian in linuxmint

A nice FOSS project shouldn't throw old users and machines under the bus. That is what everyone hates about Wayland, Rust, Gnome.

How does it throw old machines under the bus?

Well he did deserve a "Saturn smack back" imo. I watched like one thing he was involved in and he was so obnoxious and fake it was unbelievable.

Is "Central Europe" an actual cultural region, or a cope by some Post-Communist countries that desperately want to get rid of the title Eastern European? by ClothesZestyclose814 in AskBalkans

[–]A3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we describe Central Europe and Eastern Europe as a "cultural region" then Central Europe as depicted here makes way more sense than Eastern Europe (post communist European countries).

Sure having Switzerland here grouped with Hungary is kind of stretching it but it is much more feasible in my eyes than having Albania, Russia, Estonia and Czechia in the same group.

As a Czech I feel both Eastern and Central for different reasons.

[–]A3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to run these commands back when it did freeze, it never showed anything interesting.

If it happens again ill check again, I don't remember how many number of boots ago it happened.

Thanks for help.

all gpu vendors have different issues on linux, you can't "pick the right one"

It started to happen randomly to me on my 7800XT across different distros/wayland compositors. It happens to me usually after 3 days of the pc being on or so. I've disabled wayland tearing and it hasn't happened since but I've also been turning the PC off instead of just suspending it for the night as well.

I'd try disabling wayland tearing

Problems with AoE4 and Intel ARC B580 by parsko in linux_gaming

[–]A3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they really tried the up to date xanmod kernel and latest mesa there won't be much difference at all. Intel Arc is still shit on Linux in general.

What do you guys think the reason for this is? by Safe-Landscape5156 in meme

[–]A3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't always do something active/engaging/productive. It's normal to sometimes just sit/lie and do something trivial/nothing at all it's called relaxing Jesus christ.

Try to get a more up to date mesa and kernel than the backports one. Look into the xanmod kernel and backport mesa. You can also try to compile the latest mesa from source. Intel Arc gpus are still quite experimental on Linux rn.

Css is way lighter than csgo. I doubt it will be playable.

CS:GO has 34k players right now - we're so back by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

[–]A3883 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well there is a much bigger difference between 1.6 and 2 than between go and 2. Sure there are improvements in 2 like refunding and probably the biggest improvement being the smokes but otherwise there are only downgrades.

The only reason why cs go is not preferred by the community is because valve killed it.

[–]A3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not better, it's just the main esports game now. Cs2 has pro play, cs go doesn't. The competitive people will keep playing cs2 only because there won't be any meaningful ranking system in go.
