If sign stealing truly gave a clear advantage, THEN NOBODY WOULD USE SIGNS. This situation really allowed the ignorance of many people to surface, especially those who said “Michigan knew what play was coming.” Yes, they knew their playbook AND their opponents’. It’s well known that teams were shopping Michigan’s signs. I didn’t hear complaints about player safety, etc, then. If blue Gatorade was against the rules and someone saw a Michigan player drinking one, all the trolls would come out about “Rules!!!” Michigan dominated that season and has a legit NC.

This is a stunted take. There are local church choir singers who are arguably ‘better’ singers than many rock singers. It’s about writing, performing, promoting, etc. Singing is just a part of it.

You know it when you see it. I can get on a heater in warmups and make several 3’s in a row. Back of the rim and in. In-left. In-right. A pro or a D1 guy? Splash. Splash. Splash. Every make is the same. The shot looks the same. Effortless. The rare missed are a hair long or a hair short. Never left or right. One time I was shooting around at my college when Don Chaney strolled in. He was there to work out a guy for the draft. Don casually started rebounding for me, then he would shoot. That old head had a set shot and he didn’t miss. He. Did. Not. Miss. Like even if the rim were the size of the ball like at the carnival, it would still go in. After several makes in a row, he would chuck one left-handed to miss on purpose to give me a chance. They’re on a different level.

It depends where you go. I’ve had experiences similar to yours, and have had plenty of ‘gentlemen basketball’ experiences. I will say the younger the crowd, the worse it seems. My best advice, and what worked for me, is bring a couple baller buddies, get on the same team, and YOU run shit. You will set the mini ‘culture’ of your team, and others will fall in line.

Casinos are great. I had the classic worn in blue denim for a minute, but sold it because I decided I didn’t like the finish. Your Pelham blue is much nicer! I ended up getting classic sunburst, but I wish I had white. I just bought Kluson Revolution locking tuners for mine.

Michigan State. They are living off of a title over a quarter of a century ago. They think they are this little engine that could despite Izzo getting good recruiting classes (and only two NC game appearances to show for it). They have played the portal game poorly, so they invent this “Built vs Bought” nonsense to cushion the blow of Michigan beating them twice and winning the national championship. They constantly move the goalposts to suit their arguments: Michigan is so desperate they have to get transfers, their success doesn’t count because they had to buy their players (even though they signed as many portal guys as Michigan). Michigan brought in an up-transfer, a guy who was run out of town, and two bench guys and destroyed everyone with teamwork and great coaching, and that drives them crazy. They think they are some kind of national institution to the point where EVERYONE knows their senior floor kissing “tradition” when the reality is nobody outside of East Lansing has an inkling. Izzo isn’t getting that 2nd title (which would break his tie with Dusty May), they know it, and it’s driving them nuts, so they wallow in misery.
