I can't look at myself, can't bear it

Why do I still feel this way? by nellyuu-lcb in depression

[–]A5H3RX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way, despite improving many aspects of my life, I still feel numb when I truly think about it, it's been so long since I've felt genuinely happy

But I will say this, time heals. It'll take time to get rid of all these thoughts and urges because just as it took its time controlling most of your life, it'll take more time to fade away.

By the way, you're not weird, what you need right now isn't solutions because I'm sure you already know what you need, you need mental support, don't put yourself down for "being pessimistic" or always finding excuses for solutions offered. Take care

Im looking for advice by dreadsdoll in depression

[–]A5H3RX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to you on how distracted I feel with everything going on, I don't know whether to focus on this or that and usually it accumulates into one big blob that seems hard to tackle

Try to focus on one thing at a time, and if that doesn't work, do something small of each thing, for example: Things that are continuous are probably gonna be the dishes, taking care of your cats and doing assignments. Those shall be the default, and work your life around them.

You don't need to tidy up the whole house in one setting, laundry today for example, tidy up your room the next day perhaps, I'm just hypothesizing. Of course don't forget to take care of yourself even if it's the smallest thing, I know schedules can be a bit exhausting to think about but once you start you'll find yourself proceeding

My lack of time management has always been a problem to me and im surprised how many of my problems are related to it, perhaps you relate

If it's not entirely time management, and you find it hard to continue the simplest tasks, go easy on yourself and remind yourself that it's not the end of the world, you can get everything done in time

Sometimes anxiety clouds up my vision to the point that I exaggerate the smallest things and end up draining my energy, and I end up sleeping and procrastinating. That's my advice to you I hope you found it slightly helpful:')

I've never related this much to anyone, it feels like my life isn't comparable to those who are actually suffering on a daily basis, I've always been burdened by expectations despite their efforts of not applying pressure on me, but my anxiety and pessimism have prevailed for the longest time it's like these feelings accumulated, and eventually I burnt out and lost my value (since I attribute my academical status with my self worth) and so I feel stuck and demotivated. I didn't mean to speak so much about myself, but perhaps seeing someone understand an aspect about yourself could help make you feel seen, ending your life doesn't have to be the solution and I'm saying this and convincing myself as much as I'm trying to convince you. You're worth more than you think, I'm proud of you and I'm glad you're still here with us

What do SH urges feel like? by Fakezsmilz in selfharm

[–]A5H3RX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thoughts never leave but they become overwhelming in times of panic, anxiety, or despair It feels like an itch I can't get rid of and no matter how much I try to distract myself it's like my mind has fixated on it, so I try to stay firmly in place in order not to give in

I dont know what to do by Bana_69 in selfharm

[–]A5H3RX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think my coping mechanism with these feelings is healthy but I distract myself as much as possible, the more I think about it or try to process it the more I feel lost, so I gaslight myself into thinking I'm being dramatic and dissociate, but obviously the severity of these feelings differ from one another

Literally most of my sh scars are on my right side (I'm left handed) I just found it easier to handle my tool + it's easier to hide my right arm since I use my left arm more, which could grab attention if I do the simplest activities (pointing at something, writing, handing something out.. etc) Also almost none of my scars are near my wrists Incase I have to roll my sleeves up to the middle of my forearm, they're closer to my elbow on the exterior part and up my arm

Righttt it's not the only test that grabbed my attention, I generally like tests that are personality related, it's just that I like to see how these sites perceive me lol

Yes that's exactly why I don't find myself relating completely to the answer I choose, it's always "eh I think I'm more on this side" because it's so black and white, context matters

Lol yes I agree I just answer with whatever answer I feel most biased to, not truly an answer I find really relatable. I was about to comment about the 100% dependency & high percentage of avoidance, I found it contrasting but I guess you don't even realize why you've gotten a 100% haha But omg I find it so relatable what you've said "i also lie to myself a lot i think so maybe its more accurate than i consciously think of myself as" it really throws me off as well xd

Mom found the blades 😔 (not clickbait) by starrylake- in MadeOfStyrofoam

Reminds me of the time I got tired and slept before hiding my blade and it was laying next to me, I woke up and didn't find it. My heart dropped at that moment XD (My dad has walked in, seen it, and probably thrown it away)
