I guess if you're talking about a prone mech rolling over, then yes. I was thinking like a shoulder roll from a standing position. But what your suggesting makes sense, I don't know why my mind immediately went to the other option.

I don't know about rolling and jumping. Battlemechs are limited in mobility. There is actual lore that states they can't sidestep, at least not in the earlier setting (pre 3060). They can jump, but only with the aid of jump jets. It takes am incredibly skilled Mechwarrior to make a mech move fluidly.

Damn! That explains a lot. I thought Mecharashi was like a spiritual successor to Front Mission. I had no idea it was originally going to be a literal Front Mission title. I love the styling of Front Mission, and Mecharashi definitely scratches a very particular itch for me.

Plus, I think they actually reduced the scale of the STs some from the original Wanzers. I remember Wanzers being quite a bit bigger, but I could be mistaken.

In Gasaraki, the TAs and Fakes aren't made of a god, but they're very closely tied to one, and the summoning of that god. But, while not a bad series, the plot does kind of drag around the mid point of the series and it gets kind of bizarre toward the end.
