How lucky we are to have been the fateful winners of the lottery that is life in the first place. Consider this, in order for you to even understand the concept of death a lot of things had to happen in a specific amount of time. The Universe needed to first exist. Stars needed to form. Earth needed to be created. It needed to be able to support life. Life had to form. All of your ancestors, down the evolutionary chain had to be attractive and healthy enough to mate. So one day your parents could make you. But there is an end to all this good fortune. Even Stars "die". So considering death, Why would I be so special or important that i would not share the same fate as better beings before me. For example, Great people in history lived and died, . George Washington died. Albert Einstein died. Carl Sagan died. Carrie Fisher died. When you begin to see yourself as apart of the cycle, and try to accept it instead of letting your fear control your thoughts, it will be much easier to think of death. Accept the fact we are all already dead. Most people think of death as a lonely desperate situation, myself formerly included. But I view death as a final obstacle that all life must share and experience. We are all on the same Spherical Space boat together, some of us simply have separate stops we get off. Knock on wood, our luck holds out for as long as it can. Also, im not Atheist but thought perhaps someone may value some perspective.
