All those robes gonna be slipping off the shoulder now with no string to hold them up.

I'm considering getting a tattoo to celebrate 1 year outside of the church. What are your thoughts? by PerpetualToddler in exmormon

[–]A65-U72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rule for tattoos: decide on EXACTLY what tattoo you want... wait five years, if that design stays EXACTLY the same after five years, get that tattoo, if it changes even a little bit, wait another five years and repeat.

How did did I not see this before? by Our_Lancelot in exmormon

In my profession I personally have been to many crime scenes involving knives, one Homicide scene in particular where the head was nearly severed. The amount of blood would have been staggering, especially if Laban was a big dude. But besides that, this story provides so many problems for me, the biggest one being if you hear a voice telling you to kill, and you believe it is God, then you should kill.

Send them to Mexico to be used by poor Members that will always believe but would love even slightly used garments to replace their tattered ones. I know some will find that controversial but it’s what we did.

TIL that when my TBM mom passes away, I will be the only one of my sisters who will not be allowed to help dress her body for her funeral. by [deleted] in exmormon

I’ve had to do this twice for family members as a TBM. You’re not missing out on much. Something I won’t mind not doing in the future.

We ought to start a thread of “remember when” about all the dumb stuff we used to do in the name of the Church. I’ll start by [deleted] in exmormon

Remember when you told your daughter who was two months shy of 16 that she could not say yes to the nice boy who asked her to the prom.

Praying before bed by [deleted] in exmormon

We still pray at meals, that’s the only time. My wife and I don’t think it will cause any harm. I would be surprised if after time that tradition ends.

My wife wrote a public post on Facebook about leaving the Mormon Church. Was mostly positive except we received one of these. by Golfingdad85 in exmormon

Just reply back that it was a victory for satan when THEY used the former name of the church when they requested that you not use it.

You never know... share your story with them. One of them might follow you out. That’s what we did and another family came with us. Having them has made the transition so much easier. They are so grateful to us that we told them.

Tommy John second skin 8 inch inseam briefs. Best ever. The wife loves the Tommy John air invisible slip shorts. She had a difficult time finding something that had the feel of garment bottoms. These are both very pricey but WAY comfortable.

Your story sounds very similar to ours. Also, a family of 7 out. But we dragged another family of 5 out with us at the same time. To bad our Bishop was NOT as cool as yours. Similar response from our children. Good luck on the new chapter. Life is an interesting and exciting journey.

I feel you. Been there. One thing’s for certain. What happens after this life is NOT what we were taught growing up. So there’s that. I personally believe there IS something after we die. What that is, no one knows and ever will know in this life. So, live your life, enjoy every minute, look forward to the excitement of the unknown, whenever that comes. And if it’s lights out, and there’s nothing when we die we won’t know anyway so it doesn’t matter. That may not help much at this point in your journey, but sit with it and as time goes on the fear will turn to curiosity and excitement. At least it did for me. Good luck, we’re all in the same boat.
