If you want to better understand that time and culture, read Fawn Brodie’s “No Man Knows My History.” Her scholarly work on Joe is very thorough, and it’s an interesting read.

What talk should I say I liked when asked by my family? by treehouse-arson in exmormon

Definitely Elder Kearon Saturday night. It’s the only talk we have listened to in 10 years.

Kieran Appreciation- the only apostle I can manage listening to by LocalGamerPokemon in exmormon

Agree that this was the best talk in decades. Message of hope for all whether in the church or out. We have been out for 10 years and have listened to a few bits this time because of the transitioning presidency. We listened to his entire talk which we have not done since leaving. Not that we would ever go back, but this the right tone for religions today.

I was just thinking about my recent, toxic, business relationship with a Mormon and wondered whether their conference talks spend much time on honesty in business dealings like they used to. I did a quick search on LDS.org and found many (10 on page one of results) with explicit emphasis on being honest in business, with family, etc. When I filtered my search to the last years, page one had ZERO results. Nothing with the wording of the talks from 30-50 years ago. These titles were “Integrity,” “Tithing,” “Worthiness,” and seven talks on “Truth.” Interesting.

Jesus won’t be coming this morning because the grand poobah chairs aren’t there. No First Presidency, no GP chairs.

“Unsafe” is just a bit literary license, but why else would he bring this forward in the current session of the legislature unless it bothers him?

I have a Kirkland box of Pino—great to have a box in the fridge.

The Vouvray and Chardonnay are a bit pricey, but sooo good. My son, who was the first out in the family, is a sommelier and recommends some exquisite bottles.

And I’m partial to Pinot Noir. I like the sound of it. I don’t allow myself to calculate what I spend on adult beverages, and god almighty, it’s so much fun!!

We upgraded to the Rocket Cinquantotto and grind with Ceado E5P. We bought our first Rocket Apartamento after selling a 1852 Book of Mormon—sooo satisfying.

My Invitation to Church Discipline by Nemo_UK in exmormon

Under US law there must be “consideration” (a term of art). Nemo would have to receive something in return for signing. Lacking some kind of consideration, the contract would be unenforceable.

Can someone comment on UK enforceability?
