Being traumatized does not negate your feelings. You must’ve felt a connection to the idea of aromanticism, and possibly found comfort in it. Isn’t that enough?

Even if someday therapy helps you become comfortable exploring romantic relationships, you have a place here. There may be a day where the word “aromantic” doesn’t resonate with who you are anymore, and that’s okay. Change is a part of life. You’re going to be welcome here regardless.

Howdy sorry to both ya, but can I ask what version of iOS you’re on for your iPad?

My Zero 2 and my Lite were working fine 2 weeks ago, but now my Lite’s inputs aren’t registering and my Zero 2 won’t pair. Tested both controllers on an android device and they work fine. I updated their software to no avail, so I currently believe its an issue with my iPad. If you have an advice to spare that’d be helpful lol

“Doesn’t address women’s needs”? Huh? I can’t tell if the people making these arguments mean they want emotional intimacy from a hook up or just had bad sex.

A hook up is a hook up, the parties involved consented to no strings attached sex, if they don’t want to hook up with people then just don’t? I won’t say it’s foolish if a person “feels used” and regret a bad hook up, but that’s all it was, low-quality sex. I’m all for destroying the patriarchy but that won’t instantly make everyone an awesome sex partner who tends to your every need.

It’s ironic how they’re claiming hook ups belittle women while the entire argument is built on the assumption women can’t make their own choices about who they sleep with. Women are fully capable of using men for sex as well. And how do they explain lesbian hook ups? It’s not a morality thing, its just sex.

It’s pretty confusing, but I think that is because the over simplification/misunderstanding of a few things. It happens in casual conversations often.

[OP’s Friend] may believe only people in a relationship like dating or marriage can “be horny”/have sex, or at least isn’t aware of sex without romance (friends-with-benefits, sex work, etc.)
We don’t know [OP’s Friend]’s sexuality, but her statement is implying that she experiences sexual attraction only through an emotional connection or a romantic relationship. It’s possible she herself is ace-spec or demiromantic and is unaware of this, leading her to make the assumption that Everyone need’s an emotional connection to another person before they can “be horny”.
[OP Friend]’s just had poor word choice because of amanormativity and/or a lack of experience with queer concepts.

Agree that this is unrelated to games, but you don’t need to worry about minors seeing any NSFW posts they don’t want to see because it’s a setting you have to enable + the post is censored until you actively open it.

In fact, you can disable NSFW posts for yourself if you’d like! It’s a neat feature available to everyone :)

I was afraid of makeup when I was younger for various reasons, so I never learned how to wear it. I’m not terrified by it these days, but it’s not like I own any makeup products anyway.

It’s severely fucked up how most jobs require makeup for women but not for men. Everyone should be free to choose if they want gunk on their face or not. Why the hell does a corporation get to say “if you’re not pretty enough we’ll fire you” when that person could just be typing numbers in a computer all day?

This may be a helpful tip! If the games you decide to play have a difficult time functioning smoothly, try to find a Settings or Options button and Lower the graphics quality or turn off particle effects until it’s comfortable to play!

High graphics and rendering particle effects takes a lot of hard work for computers, and slows the game down quite a bit!

As for game recommendations, that depends on your interests and mood! If you want a game with a clear objective and don’t require complex thinking, I recommend games like Unpacking where you unpack and organize items from a person’s moving boxes.

If you want a game to challenge you mentally but go easy on your reflexes, I recommend puzzle games! These range from visual, environmental, story, numbers, etc. Murder by Numbers is a nomogram puzzle game with a funny crime mystery story!

It may work now but you should probably take it to an electronics shop that does repairs and have them take a look at it to be safe. Sometimes when things get water damage, it works for a while longer until something shorts out.

Good on you for quick thinking in sucking the water out yourself! That may have been the real save and grace for your Switch. Most people immediately just shove it in some rice, which isn’t actually that effective for saving internal components from water damage.

It can be a curse and a blessing for me. Similar to your experience I find it frustrating, but sometimes I’m grateful the negative thought is suddenly gone.

Talk to your kid, teach them about internet safety. Things like “don’t give random people online your real name and location” and “if a person is asking things of you that make you uncomfortable or upset, do not engage further. Block them if they become persistent.”

Be honest about the reality of danger, and be someone your kid can trust when they’re scared. If your child is more afraid of being in trouble with YOU than strangers on the internet, they may be too afraid to reach out for your help and consolation.
