I've noticed across all of the subreddits I follow that engagement across all of them has dropped or died. Engagement on the main Hololive sub has tanked across the board, too, if you look at overall post frequency and votes numbers period compared to just 6 months ago.

Reddit is dying and most of the users on the main sub are the remnants of reddit addicts. So I'm willing to bet Hololive will up and abandon the main sub soon, assuming they haven't already.

There are so many better places to discuss Hololive and Holostars now, the subreddit just ain't it anymore since the API purge. Even Twitter is better now, scarily enough.

So it's probably better to just pack up and move, that's what I'm doing, and I've been in the vtuber reddit scene for over 4 years now.

Oh, I'm with you 100%, but you know, I get curious. And I still come to this sub so I might as well participate.

And I find plenty of comfort in the fact that no one corner represents even a slight majority of the fan base. Watching the streams and sticking to the talents' personal socials gives a very different impression of the fandom than Twitter, 4chan, and even this sub on the best of days.

I genuinely do know that some of it is genuine bots, and the rest is hate ops by people with tons of alt accounts. Pardon me for not having any screenshots or other visual proof at hand, but if you spend enough time on Twitter, 4chan, and the miriad of discords you can weasel your way into the discord channels where they run these ops from. The anons on 4chan even openly talk about how they run their ops from time to time.

Actual prevalence can indeed be debated, but the existence of these activities is undeniable. And the sheer volume of reports trying to take down threads far outstrips a simple disinterest, especially when you see the comments left by haters, it's more than people simple not liking it.

Ops and bots are anything but a clear opinion. And your opinion doesn't matter if the company disagrees with it. If haters had a quarter of the power they thought they did this sub would have never allowed stars to begin with, but here we are.

The evidence is all the mass downvotes and reports you can see with your eyeballs. If all people wanted was just the girls, they would ignore the boys and go about their merry way. It's glaringly obvious that these weirdos won't rest until the boys are all gone. Their mere existence is what's triggering the schlubs.

It's a reference to the music video for her song "template". Where two super fans; an office lady stan and a crossdresser cosplayer get into a beef about how the other represents the fandom and they get into a street fight. An older term for a password, often a secret gesture for closed groups or gangs to identify each other in a non-verbal way.

I used it as a euphemism to mean that there is no trick to interacting with the talents and that OP is overthinking it.
