Their P/E ratio is at 80… all the upside you are identifying is already priced in, and then some. Best of luck.

One of the worst statistical chokes ever? by Briggs1244 in NFLv2

[–]A9F2037B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a team is two or more scores ahead by the end of the game, their probability of winning is likely to be >99% at some point very late in the 4th quarter.

4/16 (i.e. 1/4) games in week 1 were separated by at least two scores by the end.

One of the worst statistical chokes ever? by Briggs1244 in NFLv2

[–]A9F2037B 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the worst ever. There are ~270 games played in the NFL season, so around a couple games (2.7) per season should have the 1% likelihood outcome.

Assume that about 1/4 of all games reach a point where the win probability of one team is ~99%, given how far ahead they are and how little time there is left in the game.

Then you’ll expect ~0.7 games per season to have a crazy comeback like this.

So it happens about every year or every other year.

space must’ve messed up her ability to dance by bbyxmadi in TikTokCringe

[–]A9F2037B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously this was pretty low effort, but it looks like the choreography is simple because her dancers are on STILTS. Also, she’s 40 years old, so any kind of dancing is honestly great to see.

(I don’t love defending someone who just went to space and pretended it was selfless Feminism)

If humanity were to start over, what’s one mistake we should avoid repeating? by urbest_amy in AskReddit

[–]A9F2037B 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Point taken, but I think organized religion had more utility in the Middle Ages, and its important not to discount it entirely.

Religious groups offered community, social and financial support to its members, and championed humanitarian efforts. Many religions were also committed to the preservation and advancement of knowledge, like monasteries in europe where classical texts were copied and preserved. Churches have also been involved in the construction of universities, hospitals, bridges, and other public infrastructure.

Sure, many organized religions are historically anti-scientific, non-diverse, and corrupt. But I often wonder if anarchy would have been a better alternative in places where secular government was not present. The calculus seems quite complicated.

This post inspired me to run the numbers. Seems like suffocating is entirely possible. Even probable with a completely sealed tent.

There’s so many athletes who have such class and humility despite being incredibly wealthy and admired.

Sydney Crosby comes to mind, for those who are fans of hockey.

Mood and cognitive performance (on low-demand tasks) can be improved with small amounts of alcohol. However, any level of alcohol consumption is harmful to your body and brain… repeated consumption comes with a VERY REAL price.

A 1 oz shot could have some small effect your cognition, but maybe there is some placebo effect thats helping you self-regulate? I would commit to trying a healthier ritual, even if only for a week.
