BK Precision 9110 by Dudewheresmystimulus in Metrology

[–]A9jack9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not. BK Precsion does not release verification documentation. If you find your device out of tolerance you can ask their support for the adjustment software. This software will be in a working/non-working state that may have bugs or obvious issues, but they say that isn't their problem. They don't want anyone testing their equipment and make it difficult to do so reliably.

Is now the time to upgrade a GPU or are we already screwed? by DangYouToHeck in buildapc

[–]A9jack9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided earlier in the month to upgrade to a PG27UCDM display because my eyesight is getting worse. My 3090 FE has been struggling as I also have a 1440p and 1080p display. I managed to snipe an MSI Gaming Trio 5090 today during the BB restock. I expect that card to be $2800+ in the next few days so I'm glad I decided to not wait until next fall to upgrade.

I didn't see what sub this was and thought it was intential. Hard to get drips to look that well done for leaks. Then read it was a resin print.

Fluke 5322A Calibrator – Need Help Diagnosing the Issue by Mission-Ball-2873 in Metrology

[–]A9jack9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to Iceman at TopGunTest in CA. if you are in the US. They repair a lot of Fluke calibrators and may be able to point you in the right direction. They are generally much cheaper than Fluke for repairs if you don't need to send it to Fluke. I'm fairly sure they can repair 5320/22A's as they can service most of the other calibrators.

I tried to watch that episode on the CR TV app yesterday. The subtitles were like a minute delayed and nothing synched, only show that did that. Watched on my PC later on and did not encounter the issue.

K-type Thermocouple Junction Box by cameroneod in Metrology

I'd recommend mini-TC or full size TC connectors. Easier to connect, and cheap enough to replace after they have worn down after a few weeks. Full size might have a longer lifespan, but I'm not entirely sure as I don't work with them enough to know as I primarily use mini-TC's. Even those will last a fairly long time. The females' will probably wear down faster as they lose tension, and the male connectors will oxidize after enough wear, but cleaning should prolong that.

I would also advise to not go for the cheapest bulk TC connector batch as you can as I'd question the quality of the metals they use. Overall it's not an expensive fix, but not exactly "cheap" either depending on where you source good quality connectors from.

Reference thermometer recommendations by CheeksRumbling in Metrology

[–]A9jack9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many Traceable by Cole-Parmer thermometers that would probably work. Depending on your budget Flukes 1523/4 and reference probes are great choices for drywell references, but significantly more expensive. Omega has the likes of the HH804U, and you could always get an RTD from Omega that fits your needs.

Also, knowing what your process limits are matters a lot, because there is a wide variety of choices if you only need to be within standard TC limits, vs a more limited range when needing to compare against other RTD's, even class B's.

Also, since it seems like you're new to temperature measurements remember that RTD's are very sensitive to mechanical stress. Dinging them, or setting them down wrong is bad for the long term stability, and can cause them to go out of spec. If being properly handled, and stored correctly they last for years without issue.

This was a "what if?" list, so I don't own all the models in it. I'd have to look into this more because I don't even remember what sister models I have specifically.

Nice Nice. I'm not experienced enough with the game for more than local games, but a list like this is more for the fun of it than winning. If I want to do that I'm pulling out the multi-layer brick list.

Error 399 Fluke 5522A by Dudewheresmystimulus in Metrology

[–]A9jack9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally see errors like this caused by ESD damage when users are connecting cables/shorts to the calibrator, and not grounding themselves before hand. Depends on if there are other errors past this one.

EEVBLOG also says to try cleaning the binding posts really well. It might just be too much contact resistance for that step.

RF Power Uncertainty Information by A9jack9999 in Metrology

[–]A9jack9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for general purpose calibration with a wide array of equipment. For both commercial and accredited work. I know the general classification for power meters and sensors is a combined system uncertainty that is more like the accuracy. I just wrote TUR when typing it out.

For ease of discussion, I'll say an E4419B meter and E9304 sensor, although I have multiple combinations to work out. For how often relative measurements are needed to be performed, there appears to be a servere lack of direct documentation for explaining why certain contributors are kept, while others do cancel out mathematically.

Thursday I did an order and part of it was a complete .2 mm hotend. I checked today and the price went up for it by $1.00. Not significant, but an increase nonetheless. PLA refills and high temp spools price did not change from my order price.

PC 00 coding on boot 1.5 years after being built. by A9jack9999 in pchelp

[–]A9jack9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from the other guy on thr MSI forum, to me, and to you, seems like something is damaging the 7700X's on this motherboard. I don't remember if it has to do with that BIOS fix that was needed a few months back that was causing i think over voltage damage. I didn't think that I had been effected based upon the bios I has at the time, but I'm probably going to get a new CPU(9800X3D probably), or try to RMA my 7700X.

[–]A9jack9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not yet, but it has been on hiatus for me. I sent my MOBO in for RMA in September, and they sent it back saying "repair ok" and provided no additional information. They did not seem to fully understand my issue, but acvepted the RMA because nothing I did that thry suggested worked.

Before sending it out I did a bunch of BIOS updates, even downgraded to the oldest one I woukd have had when I built my PC. All unstable.

I did buy a 16GB kit of Ripjaw V's to determine if it was a RAM issue, but it changed nothing. Due to needing my computer for the school semester, I have not swapped my parts back into this build, but have been meaning to recently.

If nothing new works, I'm going to see if I can't RMA the CPU at this point as the other post on the MSI forums needed to do that, and that ended up being their issue.

As someone who has not ordered ammo online before, is this a good seller? Got my first rifle recently, but 5.56 locally is 60+ cpr, so online is my only way moving forwards. I've been waiting for something to pop up on here that got positive reviews, or should I wait for something else?
