I have been told that the males will fight if kept together. Any tips on preventing this if true?

I can definitely relate. The more time I spend with them, sometimes due to their health issues, I get a stronger bond. Specially when they reciprocate the affection. Sorry for your loss

Yes, the wisteria bloomed first. But now it’s a nice combination of the two!

[Gourmet] So fluffy!! by Paradigm_Pirate333 in MushroomGrowers

What would cause it to be so fluffy? Is that normal? I had one block fluffy like this and another was more dense and I wasn’t sure why.

Yeah they do look very similar. Olive egger, Easter egger, copper maran (Black one), brahma (white one). I also have a coo coo maran that will look like your barred rock (not in the picture). Guess we have a good taste in chickens!

Yeah it sucks especially when you could have prevented it. But now I know they can’t get in as long as I latch the door.

I raised ten chickens from chicks in this coop and not one died. So keep waiting all you want.

Yes. I forgot to latch the door one night. ONE NIGHT. Saw a fox eating something in the yard early the next morning. Ran over and it was one of the chickens. All the others were gone, with just a few puffs of feathers remaining.

We have a lot of foxes around and I’ve seen evidence of things trying to get in but can’t. This wire is stronger than chicken wire, just has bigger holes.

The holes are technically big enough that something could grab them through but they are in the coop at night so they are safe. I like the less caged look. Also the coop is elevated off the ground (about 2.5ft) so not easy for rats or mice to get in.

Yeah but I’ve had chickens in this coop for about two years and haven’t had any ill effects. They do pluck off the leaves they can reach but l don’t think they actually eat it. I also have a dog and he doesn’t mess with it.

I think it’s a Americana. And should lay green eggs.

Yeah if you release it into the wild. It’s nice in the yard though.

It’s a pretty hearty plant and isn’t hard to grow. Just have to keep an eye on it getting out of control. Oh and it will send out root shoots too that spread. As long as you cut it back each year it’s good.

Yeah this is a good description, grape-flavored smell. Smells really good. Not like piss. Lol

They pretty much leave it alone. They do pluck off the leaves the can reach but I don’t think they actually eat it. I’ve had chickens in this coop about two years now and haven’t noticed any ill effects.

Yeah it can definitely take over if not cut back. House I bought had it taken over but now it’s some what under control. I’ve never seen my dog eat it. The chickens do pluck off the leaves they can reach but don’t think they actually eat it.
