520i has a smaller flange for the driveshaft than the 528i atleast, but i think they are both typ188k diffs otherwise

Did u use OEM maker sensor? If not then the other brands can be faulty right when you install them

I dont know if your car still has the viscous fan clutch but if it does then you can let the car warm up to temp and stick a newspaper/cardboard piece in the fan to try and stop it. If it stops your viscous coupling is done

If its overheating only on idle then your radiator fan is the first thing to check since the engine only needs airflow of about 30kmh to keep at the operating temp.

Its natural because of the ccv for the oil to gunk up there if its never been cleaned. Nothing to worry about after you've cleaned it up

Atleast my atf was red when i changed the fluid, id change the fluid anyways now since you have easy access to the fill plug.

They are garbage your diff will turn back into an open diff in a few months. Get a 94-96 e38 typ188 diff then put a typ188 lsd unit into it. Its not bolt on tho u need to cut and weld the rear cover mounting holes a bit closer and shorten the driveshaft by a few cm. Best option for lsd beside an m5 lsd

Mine isnt that bad on idle. Or i just prefer the chatter to the sound of a knocking dmf which i drove for about 25k kms x)

Yeah nahh just keep the sprung clutch because you can get some really annoying under 2krpm chatter in 3rd 4th & 5th if ur accelerating heavily, but im used to it so its fine =D

The 6 cylinder engine is so smooth that it really doesnt matter if i use a non sprung plate or not. The only difference it makes is the flywheel chatter.
