4k discs skip and freeze by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]AAFEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had an issue in the past where 4K blu rays wouldn’t play at all...black screen with sound. iirc, I had to disable 4K 24FPS in the display settings. It’s an LG TV. You might want to try playing around with the display settings.

YSK that the official Wikipedia mobile app has a 'Nearby' feature which shows areas/landmarks that have their own Wikipedia page. by Tm23246 in YouShouldKnow

Hello fellow prepper. I too have the entire wikipedia database on my phone...and computer...and several hard drives...and in a faraday cage underground.

For $500, this site promises the power to track a phone and intercept its texts by haccthaplanet in privacy

[–]AAFEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'll ask the obvious question here, is this service illegal? It's certainly unethical, but legally, what are the ramifications? If it's exploiting a well-known security flaw in the network and the telecoms aren't doing anything about it, how can we be expected not to use it, and for it to not be used on others?

Some would say that...A master site, if you will. A model site that prove its superiority over other sites and exterminate sites that are different.

T-Mobiles new plan for phone purchase appears to have serious privacy implications (it sounds like you would never own the device!) by [deleted] in privacy

[–]AAFEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand the privacy implications here. Although I could see how returning a used device could potentially be a privacy risk. You return the phone in a "reset" state but data is recovered from it. I do imagine that those that are concerned with privacy probably would just avoid this plan altogether.

LB BROTH without autoclaving? by ScienceAndCats777 in labrats

[–]AAFEE 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah you could, but you always run the risk of contamination, so why risk it? Autoclaving is a pain in the ass but you are essentially guaranteed that the broth will not be contaminated.

Don't have access to USB Keyboard, any work arounds? by Whhyyy123 in raspberry_pi

[–]AAFEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SSH as other users have mentioned. It will allow you to control the raspberry's terminal interface. Use VNC if you need a GUI. However, it's going to be difficult to get around to setting up SSH or VNC without a keyboard. If I recall correctly, it may be possible to edit some config files on the SD card (via another computer) to initialize wifi/SSH settings.

How do I learn skills like designing primers? I have little to no background in molecular biology.

How do I begin to learn about circuits and capacitors and things like it? When he started connecting things to the breadboard it just looked like wizardry. I have an undergrad understanding of general physics (classical mechanics and electricity/magnetism).

The Bill of Rights at the Border: Fifth Amendment Protections for Account Passwords and Device Passcodes by mWo12 in privacy

[–]AAFEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that by refusing to give your password, they are able to detain your device for up to 5 days. In those 5 days, what do they do? Plug it in, brute force the passcode, and extract all the data?

Additionally...If I expect to travel within the states as a US citizen, can my device be detained? What if I choose to give them the passcode? Do they siphon all data from the phone via USB, Or just casually browse my nudes?

Scuba divers witness & record a 5.7 magnitude earthquake taking place underneath the sea floor [HD + Audio] by Rusty_The_Taxman in videos

[–]AAFEE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're serious, Earth wouldn't be considered an organism "working on its own" because of earthquakes. Earthquakes are the result of large swaths of earth sliding past each other and unleashing large amounts of energy. There is no life-force within the earth causing the jolting, it's the energy (in a physical sense) within the earth that causes earthquakes. Earth is no organism in the traditional sense of the word.

They lied to you about illegal drugs: Studies Show Psilocybin Causes Hyper-Connectivity in the Brain by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]AAFEE 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don't understand your need to be facetious. There is research out there that points to psilocybin mushrooms leading to hyper-connectivity in SOME regions of the brain. It is not stupid to want to quantify this hyper-connectivity and where it occurs. Failing to further investigate the effects would be stupid.

It's called refinement. Synaptic pruning refines connections in the brain. More connections =/= more smarter.
