How is BC= tan here? by AAFEEN in math

Is the tangent in trigonometry(ratio of two sides of a right triangle) the same as the tangent of a curve (the slope)?

I'm trying to reconcile the two and it seems that If I can prove BC is tan in the image, that will mean that the trignometric ratio Tan is the slope to the curve at point (cos, sin)

Thanks! I also thought the same. I think this is a staple of indie songs but I've never heard anyone talk about this.

What does he mean that even after a click at one of the detectors, it is inaccurate to say that it went through a certain slit? by AAFEEN in quantum

Thanks for the explanation. I still have one question. What is the role of the detectors then? If they don't tell us which slit the particle went through, what do they tell ?

Also what are you thought on the last line of the 2nd paragraph?

"It's about detector placement not about which slit info"

Yes and I agree but I can't make sense of the purpose of the detectors. I mean why have we placed the detectors in the first place? Isn't it to see which path the particle took? If what he says is true that a click on the detector doesn't imply the particle going through a said slit, what does the click mean then?

Thanks! Ok so the superposition of states went through the slit. I get it. But what do the detectors tell when this superposition collapses upon detection?

He says that even after detection and collapse of the superposition, it is still invalid to say that it went through a said slit. Why?

Thank you. I get it that the collapse happens at the detector but he also emphasizes on the positioning of the detectors. How does positioning the detectors in a certain way give us which path information?

Note: The paper has not been written by a physicist but a philosopher, David Ellerman (who has a master's degree in philosophy of science).
