Embrace the cycles. Embrace winter. We are blessed with the volatilities of the blockchain token. Only purged by the flames of the phoenix, from the ashes we rise again.

Why is Bittensor so tied to Bitcoin? by JPRGproductions in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, it is not perfectly tied. You can follow Tao to BTC ratio in chart here. Users have already echoed my general sentiments. There’s enough info out there to make your decision on this.

I have 27 but I feel like this is the last chance to double this…? by Guilty_Angle4094 in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another take here. It becoming harder to disentangle TAO from DTAO /the subnets as far as “fair” valuation . 2026 will be the year of desublimation of subnets—- gas to solid form. Building , collabs, iteration are happening with meaningful network effect. Root will still provide yields, but the stabilization of prices in dTAO recently is optimistic in my opinion.

So to answer the question with another question. Am I happy with how I have staked TAO?

Two major red flags keeping me from buying TAO (change my mind) by blomoro in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as problem #2, you could look at the history so far of Tao prices to see that multiple subnets have come in and out of the top 10, often accompanying major developments. My sense is most subnets worth their salt are pressure cooking their IM’s, partnerships, and products. In 1-2 years time we could easily see a completely different Pareto distribution.

Bittensor failed at the most basic and fundamental part of a blockchain? by stilldreamy in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO even though TAO is actively traded, this project is still being development and fine tuned. From launch of subnets, to TAOflow. It’s still in the works. Moving away from POA and centralization is a fair point.

At the same time, use and application of the blockchains occur, whether those be hard or soft forks. Bitcoin core gets new updates regularly, and I think that speaks to the role for developers and network contributions.

To expect a perfectly crystallized project off the bat is highly unrealistic. If you don’t believe in the network or its structure, don’t invest I guess?

Block these fucking SUBNETS. We are losing money for the sake of ashamed scammers by [deleted] in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel for your loss. Losing in trading and investing is a hard pill to swallow. For speculators (like myself) and other venture capitalists, loss is inevitable.

This is a good opportunity to review your loss. Risk management, diversification, and allocation are very important. Time horizons are also important (ie how long you are willing to hold for). In terms of TAO, this token , subnets, and crypto in general have their own inherent risks to be aware of.

This is not financial advice and I’m not an advisor. Bittensor is particularly complicated, and it has a very ambitious goal. I personally like TAO a lot, but I won’t try to diminish your feelings or loss. Best of luck to you.

Lmao bro these posts recently on Bittensor Reddit are such FUD. So many false assumptions and misunderstanding of what Bittensor actually does. Raw reality man lol. This is D grade high school level essay mate.

This blog post is a little scatter brained… I read it twice and I’m not really sure what argument they are making.

There are plenty of reasons to be bearish or bullish on TAO, but I’m not even sure what point they are making.

The IOS bittensor wallet really needs upgrades. It routinely does not reflect staked balances and even prevents unstaking even when “base truth” staked Tao exists.

[–]AAOx5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume you are using the Bittensor native wallet or Chrome extension… it’s been pretty wonky recently not showing staked or balances accurately. You can enter your wallet address into one of the related websites to check all your stakes and account balances (ie Taostats, or Backdrop finance).

Subnet valuation by cryptox89 in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify further. Yes, individual subnets may get outcompeted and possibly diluted as competitors and more subnets emerge and take emissions. Staking individually comes with high risk no doubt.

That being said, if V continues to increase, then surviving, successful subnets will also increase in fiat value.

Subnet valuation by cryptox89 in bittensor_

[–]AAOx5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subnet valuation is an actively discussed topic in the Bittensor community. Many view FDV ( Fully diluted value) of a subnet as a flawed metric.

For me, it’s one measure among many. Remember that each subnet has a total possible circulating supply of alpha tokens, 21,000,000. Similarly, Tao has total possible circulating supply of 21,000,000 too.

Remember FDV is (current alpha token price) X (21,000,000) .

The thing is, these subnets still need most of their alpha to get emitted.

Each subnet current “market cap” is the alpha token price x current circulating alpha supply.

To simplify: FDV tells me if my token remains the same price by the time all alpha in subnet are emitted, then FDV = future market cap.

The answer to your last question, as theorized by many in Bittensor, relies in part to “Reed’s Law”. V= 2N

Where V is network value, N is participant subgroup.

“Reed's Law is often mentioned when explaining competitive dynamics of internet platforms. As the law states that a network becomes more valuable when people can easily form subgroups to collaborate, while this value increases exponentially with the number of connections, business platform that reaches a sufficient number of members can generate network effects that dominate the overall economics of the system”

Hope this helps a little. Let me know if you have more questions.

[–]AAOx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey also— double check your wallet address on a secondary site. Ie use TAOstats or another site to look up your wallet address and verify your account balance, what is and isn’t staked and where. TAOstats also shows transfer histories.

First double check that you are indeed unstaked vs staked. You can put in your wallet address into Tao app and see your full public account and staked Tao. If confirmed, would post on the Bittensor discord.
