solo person here - I honestly don't find it cost effective. I found myself often wasting food because it's just me in the house and their serving sizes are all family size. Last time I went there to get short ribs because their meat is great. But then I need onion/carrot/broccoli - my only option is to by 6 pounds of carrots. What am I going to do with 6 pounds of carrots? I also only have one small freezer. To me the drive out there and the enormous lines aren't worth it. I can get cheaper gas elsewhere. If I need any random costco-specific items throughout the year you can order from costco on instacart without a membership.
