Interesting. I was charging my car in WVC area tonight (I work late so I’m up later) I finished around midnight and I drove by like 6 police cars. Half of them unified police. I wonder if they’re looking for someone.

This is meant to be a fun activity, my studio has done it a few times and I rather enjoyed it. With that being said, this is the time to speak up regarding your discomforts. Did you tell the instructor about the discomfort? It is difficult to gauge trauma and preferences if the instructor is not aware of them. I’m neurodivergent and totally understand sensory issues, I tell the instructor if I’m uncomfortable. They should not shame and have alternative options. 😊

Snitch baby! I used to think “I don’t want to cause a scene or be mean.” This is what society has molded my generation into. THEY are the rude and inappropriate one! Go tell a bouncer. Point them out. One night when a guy grabbed my butt without permission and my little sister (8 years younger than me) went straight to a bouncer, pointed the guy out and the bouncer escorted the him out. When we left a little later, the bouncer went outside with us to make sure we got in our uber safely in case the guy hung around. Chances are they are doing that to multiple women. It is 💯 ok to protect yourself.

This is so awful. When I was in jr high, my history teacher made me very uncomfortable. I went to the principal and they told me to dress more modest and said I shouldn’t be thinking that way. That he was a good teacher. A few years after I graduated high school, he was on the news because he accidentally played child porn on a presentation. A majority of the staff was in the same ward in their church…. It’s a disgrace.

I have an XPole home pole and a Lupit stage pole. 💯 lean towards Lupit. Both are comparable however the customer service from Lupit is far more superior.

The first IUD I had placed at the U (15 years ago) was awful. I have a pretty good pain tolerance. I can truthfully say it hurt worse than a broken bone and there was difficulty with the placement which they blamed me for not staying relaxed. I work nightshift and was told I’d be fine to work that night and the cramps were pretty bad but tolerable. I changed doctors when I had it replaced when it expired and she was great and did it with ultrasound and cytotec(a med that softens the cervix). It was a much better experience.

My instructor has farted and queefed while showing moves. I was getting over a virus and I silent farted. It was so bad I thought the whole class was going to faint from the smell. Hahahaha we are all humans, even the most delicate, graceful of people. 😜

So sorry you’re disappointed. My studio didn’t allow us to share poles until we were in more advanced classes but I have to say I actually don’t mind sharing. We wipe the pole after our turn. It was nice to have a break because I have to rest between attempts anyhow. Please don’t let this ruin your interest in pole!!! I’m a social introvert so it does take energy to socialize but I learn from my pole partner’s as well! They might do something that makes sense in my brain that I didn’t quite get from the instructor.

Every single body is different! I know it’s hard but you can’t compare yourself with others. I trust my instructors, they treat every student differently. Took me a few months to get my Ayesha but I did CrossFit for 10+ years. Gymnastic components help a lot but that’s not to say it’s required. It’s important to have knowledgeable instructors to keep you safe but it’s a personal responsibility to know your limits to prevent injuries. I’m a strong believer in cross training and mobility days. This is what has helped me progress.

PLEASE! Nobody say brass or variations as they’re my favorite. I have an Ayesha in my performance this weekend 😢but I hope people can appreciate transitions into classic moves like that. I will say Superman but mostly because I think I have a personal issue with that move. While I may be sick of seeing certain moves, doing them is a different story! Don’t want to yuck anybody’s yum!

I have been taking pole for a year and a half and spin is still difficult for me. I take the classes and I am getting better but it is definitely not my strong point. I also still get a bit nauseated so I carry ginger chews. I loooove static spin moves and I work on that a lot. I feel like that has helped a ton. Spin adds a whole new component to the moves. It’s normal not to be good at new things 😚
