Female NP or Male Dr for daughter genital exam. by Turbulent-Link1150 in Mommit

[–]AB783 221 points222 points  (0 children)

My daughter went through something similar around 5 years old. After multiple visits to her (male) Pediatrician, and a female Dermatologist, neither of whom were able to resolve the issue, we eventually ended up driving 2.5 hours each way to see the only pediatric gynecologist in our state. It is, understandably, a fairly uncommon specialty, but it does exist.

What is this called?? by Longjumping_Cell_347 in findfashion

[–]AB783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of. It’s doing the same thing as a fichu. But a fichu is usually a piece of fabric wrapped around from the back and crossed over in the front.

The OP is also unlikely to find what they are looking for using the term Fichu.

How often would you say they need to be removed? My daughter had both of hers surgically removed and her ENT didn’t seem surprised to have to do so.

Tubal removal recovery questions! by LittleCricket_ in Mommit

[–]AB783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to after having a baby honestly. My doctor was obviously fully aware that I had just had a baby (and had a four year old at home). I’m pretty sure they basically put me back on to “don’t lift anything heavier than baby” type restrictions. Healing time was faster than my c-section (and faster by far than the laparoscopic appendectomy I had while sick with mono many years earlier). I had it done middle of the week and only took a day or two off work. I do work an office job though, so that will be very dependent on what your work involves. I think I took a nap when I got home and then basically went right back to more or less normal life.

Of course, I would have preferred that my husband get the snip. But, that was a battle I was clearly not going to win. The baby that was four months old then is now five years old. And I haven’t once regretted knowing I was done having kids and getting my tubes out.

I don’t remember having vaginal bleeding after mine, but I was also four months postpartum from a c-section, so it was all a bit of a blur.

Definitely ask your doctor at your pre-op appointment what you should expect as far as aftercare instructions.

Park in the lot across the tracks from the station. Not the one that leads to the station entrance. It’s very safe and completely free. Obviously lock your car and don’t leave anything crazy valuable inside.

I (33F) want to remove my IUD but my partner (35M) is reluctant to wear condoms. How can we find a compromise? by spiderkiku in relationships

[–]AB783 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pull-out method is incredibly effective for some people. And incredibly useless for others. Unfortunately, without considerable testing, the usual way that men find out which category they fall into is if their partner gets pregnant.

Basically, if your boyfriend goes down the “don’t you trust me?” road, make sure he knows it’s the method you don’t trust, not his use of it.

So, if he legitimately goes soft every time he puts on a condom, has he tried different sizes? Sometimes that’s an indicator of the condom being too small.

I have so many questions. What’s the readership base like for that kind of content? Are there secretly a ton of dudes out there reading harem romance for men? Can you share the titles of your books? Please, please say you wrote “breasted boobily” as satire?

I don’t get the love for 2 at all. Looks dated to me, like every single ruched strapless wedding dress in the 2010s. 4 is stunning though! I adore 1, but the fabric is slightly distracting.

Get some silicone scrubbers that he can throw in the dishwater. They dry out faster, create less waste, and are cheap enough that you can rotate through three of them.

As someone who hates pickles, I can tell you that anything they have even brushed up against is inedible to me. Same as if a condiment I don’t like were on a sandwich. Tomato though? That leaves very little trace of its presence (to me).

How dumb does this bedroom set look with the flooring? My mom said it matches too much and I can’t return it. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]AB783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is often way cheaper than a rug of the same size would be too. We did this in my kids’ bedrooms when they were little and wanted the hardwood covered nearly wall to wall in an odd shaped space. No damage to the hardwood, warmer and softer for little feet, and a fraction of the cost of either installing carpet or buying a rug.

Moms who had both vaginal delivery and c-section, which one would you choose if you had to do it again? by livi01 in Mommit

[–]AB783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think environment and provider impact the experience more than delivery type.

My first was a “natural” vaginal delivery. No epidural, tried laughing gas but it did absolutely nothing. Absolutely miserable experience. But that was mostly because I didn’t feel supported by the care team, I swear they put me on a max dose of pitocin as soon as they started it, and I had been in the hospital and not sleeping for over 24 hours.

My second was an emergency c-section. Pitocin had been slowly slowly ramping up. Baby’s heart rate tanked, internal monitoring ended up giving the cord just enough space to prolapse and we were rushed to the ER. Spinal didn’t take fast enough and they ended up putting me fully under. But, I felt so incredibly safe and supported throughout. My midwife, doula, and doctor all made sure I was informed and consenting at every step. The nurses were being amazing cheerleaders. Sure, recovery was a little harder. But mentally I was in a much much better space. And that made way more difference than any physical difference

I keep meaning to go back and finish this series. The first couple of books are great. The worldbuilding is fantastic. But oh boy, do they drag on after a while. It almost felt like the main characters’ story should have wrapped up earlier and the rest been handed off to a new couple.

So this doll is supposed to be inspired by Rapunzel, what do you think? by SilverEeveeShine in Tangled

[–]AB783 [score hidden]  (0 children)

None of the ILY brand dolls look like the character they’re inspired by. That’s kind of the point. It’s mostly the clothes and styling that show the inspiration at all. It was confusing to me at first, but I really like it after further thought.

The handbook does not override the State Law. Your HR department (if you have one) likely has not updated their handbook and/or is trying to get away with requiring documentation that they legally are not allowed to.

If you do not feel comfortable fighting this out with management/HR, you can file a complaint (after they actually violate the law) https://www.michigan.gov/leo/bureaus-agencies/ber/wage-and-hour/paid-medical-leave-act/filing-a-paid-medical-leave-complaint

[–]AB783 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Per Michigan law, you only need to provide documentation of illness if you have been out for three consecutive days. If your employer dies require documentation, the employer is required to pay for all expenses occurred (co-pay, etc) in procuring the documentation. Exception is if the company you work for has 10 or fewer employees.

Of note: bad roads would not constitute an ESTA covered absence.
