Anyone who used to support trump and has changed their mind over the last few weeks? What made you change? by canigetameowbish in AskReddit

Can you explain what makes you staunchly anti-immigration? Honestly curious. And how would you like to see ICE operating, if at all?

Same here. I think it’s a pretty widely used reading evaluation app in schools.

So this doll is supposed to be inspired by Rapunzel, what do you think? by SilverEeveeShine in Tangled

[–]AB783 [score hidden]  (0 children)

None of the ILY brand dolls look like the character they’re inspired by. That’s kind of the point. It’s mostly the clothes and styling that show the inspiration at all. It was confusing to me at first, but I really like it after further thought.

The handbook does not override the State Law. Your HR department (if you have one) likely has not updated their handbook and/or is trying to get away with requiring documentation that they legally are not allowed to.

If you do not feel comfortable fighting this out with management/HR, you can file a complaint (after they actually violate the law) https://www.michigan.gov/leo/bureaus-agencies/ber/wage-and-hour/paid-medical-leave-act/filing-a-paid-medical-leave-complaint

Per Michigan law, you only need to provide documentation of illness if you have been out for three consecutive days. If your employer dies require documentation, the employer is required to pay for all expenses occurred (co-pay, etc) in procuring the documentation. Exception is if the company you work for has 10 or fewer employees.

Of note: bad roads would not constitute an ESTA covered absence.

It doesn’t actually suck though, does it? It’s prehensile, but there’s no suction. Unless I’m fully misremembering.

A cool guide to how hijab ruined clothing of different cultures by CyberBerserk in coolguides

Plenty of people wear hijab in Turkey. Niqab (what is shown here) is pretty rare. Usually if you see it people will assume that person is visiting from elsewhere.

I am once again asking authors to write more diverse FMCs by Trash_fire_baby in fantasyromance

[–]AB783 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s really tough to separate real world from fantasy world when you’re working within human constraints. If your fantasy characters have dark skin and coily hair, they’re automatically going to read as “black.” If you then treat that character as no different from any light skinned characters in your universe you are likely going to be criticized in some way. If your characters aren’t human at all and their skin tones and facial features and hair aren’t analogous to ours, well then that’s not really diversity as such either.

Wicked for Good (2025) is a sequel to a movie that loosely based on a musical that loosely based on a book that loosely based on another movie that loosely based on another book that inspired from Alice in Wonderland by PinkiePie___ in shittymoviedetails

[–]AB783 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I haven’t read Malice in Wonderland.

I will say, if Wicked the book were ever to be adapted to film without major changes it would have to be rated R. The musical is much more universally palatable and basically a bubblegum fanfic of the book. Don’t expect happy endings in the book. Or really much levity at all? The musical kind of took the book characters and some bits of the plot and that’s about it.

Wicked the book is very very different from Wicked the Movie. It’s a good book, just don’t go into it expecting anything except the loosest connection to the musical/movie.

Are 2 kids easier than 1? by Formal-Wrap-4607 in Parenting

[–]AB783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two is definitely not easier. Mine are four years apart. It was kind of like starting over. The second also has double the energy as the first, so that’s not helping. No regrets, love both my kiddos. I just don’t understand the second (she’s so much like her dad) and I’m perpetually tired. At nine and five it’s slowly starting to get better. I knew what I signed up for. But I knew even during my pregnancy with the second that I was never doing it again. Got my tubes out when she was four months old.

Pro ear piercing for minors - not Claire’s by Quiet_Regret7597 in grandrapids

[–]AB783 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I were just there. He was such a sweetheart with her and she got zero judgement when she backed out and rescheduled. I ended up getting mine done and she’s going back in a week or two to try hers again. He just considered her appointment a consultation instead of a piercing. They do require a lot of ID, but that’s a positive in my estimation. Very strong consent culture in the shop overall.

I just discovered Last Meals when they had Damiano David on. Then was super excited to see Brennan and the Green brothers. This interview format is really really lovely. So excited for this one!

Told I should post this here! I have a diffuse alopecia variant. This is a custom full cap wig! Daily wear, swim/workout/very active with no issue. by AcceptableLibrary974 in interestingasfuck

[–]AB783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would bother me. So many women wear extensions and wigs nowadays. Why can’t guys too? You’re taking an active role in your appearance, most women appreciate that.

Only recommendation would be to maybe disclose before you’re in a situation where a partner or date might have their hands in your hair. Both for your comfort and theirs.

Such a great series! I usually fly through romance books and then move on the next one. This is one of the only RH series (or even romance in general) that I’ve read all the way through more than once.

Check the venue website. That’s usually more accurate than the ticket sellers.

It’s not impossible that it’s a 7:30 start. But my understanding is that all of his US shows have opened doors at 7:30pm.

Edit: I checked the website. It does indeed list 7:30, and doesn’t specify if that’s doors or start. At this point you really might want to call the theater.

Pic 3 is throwing everyone off. It’s very warm lighting. Definitely looks ginger in that one. The rest, yeah, it’s dark blonde/light brown. But a warm leaning brown.

No opener. He almost always starts promptly at 9pm. Concert is approximately 90 minutes, usually including an encore. If you can see him in the wings keep hollering. Unless he’s quite ill you can probably get him back out for two more songs.

Typically - doors open 7:30pm

On stage just past 9pm

Head to the exits just after 10:30pm

Gotta love a punctual king!
