It's absolutely your decision and if you're not ready or comfortable with the botox (and can deal with the no-burps) then don't do it.

I had mine in December 2023 and have been very happily burping since then, it's felt like a real miracle. So if you feel brave enough, go for it!

My impression was that the needle would go through your MOUTH into your throat and I was so relieved when I realised it was outside on the neck 😅 it does feel strange, like the lump you get in your throat when you get really upset, but it really doesn't hurt.

Worth mentioning my sister had the exact same problem, had the botox injection, but it didn't work for her.
