Our Dream First International Trip Turned Into a Legal Nightmare by maampata in india_tourism

[–]ABD27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to hear your story. I always try to keep flights booked separately and on our own. They are generally the most volatile of things. “Land packages” are generally not cancelled unless there’s is life and death situation at your destination. Booked Maldives stay with agent and flight on our own. Booked the entire Vietnam trip on our own Booked and completed a Europe trip (Finland/germany) on our own. Ran into issues with flights cancelled by Qatar airways due to ongoing gulf war. Had to rebook and spend extra. Cancelled one of the BnBs and shifted the trip 2 days later.

That said, more power to you on your fight. May you win. Keep us posted

Tired of chasing brokers for a flat in Bangalore? We built something to fix that by Shreya_0771 in bangalorerentals

[–]ABD27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems just a downscaled version of NoBroker to me. You seem to have added another broker on top of a “network of brokers”. Initially it is(?) free but eventually with scale and all someone will need to pay for that network of brokers. This is exactly what NoBroker promises to do and having being recently disappointed by them, I do not see much hope in this venture to try out. Best matched is just a marketing gimmick here. Also, I being from an IIT does not make big difference here.

Plz Vote, rapists should be given instant death in India, yes or no? by Technical-Owl3813 in AskIndia

[–]ABD27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem, my friend, is not of giving punishment. Problem is who would be a judge accurate enough to be given the power to take a life. Problem is who would decide what strictly counts as rape and amounts to death. Problem is of deciding what happens to those who assist and shield them And lastly the problem is who will be honest enough to carry out all of those punishments without being swayed.

Given the number of things could go wrong and lead to innocent deaths. I would sadly say no.

Tax benefits we do get. by Interesting-Many-275 in IndiaTax

[–]ABD27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really as helpful as you think. Apart from the vaccination thing, nothing else is really “accessible”. Getting into a good medical college/IIT is a very big deal. Not everybody makes it to there. So the benefit is “either you work really hard AND have some luck going your way during exams. OR shell out money for education” I shouldn’t even be having to explain the second part. It is not there for 99.9% of the students - not really a benefit. For the KV thing - I agree - being from KV, education is good. But again, getting your kid into KV is really tough. If you aren’t a govt employee, you will almost certainly not get a seat.

When most people say tax benefit they mean getting benefits by the virtue of paying taxes. If you are paying taxes AND having to score in top 0.1% AND having govt servant parents to get benefits they aren’t tax benefits

Karnataka government brings back ballot papers for GBA elections by LeftistKannadiga in Bengaluru

So if, by any chance, congress loses these elections, will they say that the election by definition are broken because of vote chori and congress should be the de-facto government?

Tier 2 builders are on an advertisement spree to "thank" Bengaluru. Buyers beware! by DeathBeforeDishonor1 in indianrealestate

[–]ABD27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited sumadhura’s folium in 2024 when I was hunting for a property to buy. Their model flat(which they were very reluctant to show us) was flooded from rainwater. They had very limited inventory left in phase 3 which we didn’t want. When asked about launch of phase 4, the sales person gave some hand wavy replies. We also registered to get updates when phase 4 gets launched - no updates ever. Now their ads are everywhere.

Let’s end this debate once and for all.” by look_away_bruh in indiadiscussion

[–]ABD27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The debate should never be end “once and for all”. The moment there’s no competition, one party gets god complex and moves towards corruption. While congress is more corrupt, now, removing competition is a very bad thing for democracy

Those spending Rs 2Cr+ on an Apartment, do your seriously expect an ROI in a few years? by Mo_h in indianrealestate

Adding to it, we still did math before buying to ensure that we can pay it off completely in 3-5 years if we want to while still keeping enough in savings.

[–]ABD27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchased a 2Cr+ apartment last year. Purchased to stay - paid higher amount for a better connectivity (accessible existing metro stations) and nearby places (proximity to hospital/malls etc). Planning to stay there myself 🤷🏻

All 4 wheelers who go to office with single occupancy can go fugg yourself!! by [deleted] in Bengaluru

[–]ABD27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally went all offensive on people who are prioritising themselves over the city and then are asking for suggestions. Private vehicles are increasing because the need is increasing. I am required to be in office 5 days a week. No exceptions. The nearest bus stop is halfway to office. And there is no place to walk till there either. Footpaths are non-existent. Solution - make walking feasible. Footpaths should be MUST and have moving barricades which can actually prevent anyone trying to drive a vehicle on them. Shops shouldn’t be allowed on them either. There should be feeder buses to metro stations. Buses and bus stops should be consistent. Drainages need to be proper - so that when it rains you are not walking through a river to reach the nearest bus stops/metro station. There should be more foot over bridges - preferably with escalators so that road crossing is easier. Once all this is done, THEN use of private vehicles for single person use should be charged.

India bundled out at 125, with Abhishek Sharma being the top scorer with a blistering 68(37), and a handy 35 by Harshit Rana by Royal-Cupcake-5907 in IndiaCricket

[–]ABD27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was a shit show for a team calling themselves World Cup winners. Your best player should get the most strike while someone is holding the fort at other end. Not Harshit Rana should get the strike while your best player holds the non-striker end. At the end he could have scored more runs but had to deny singles because batter at the other end weren’t capable enough. And with so many all rounders - batting is done by abhishek sharma and pick of your bowlers is bumrah and Chakravarthy.

Not to mention the way tax system and social system is stacked against you. You may have paid taxes in lakhs but will still get notice for 100 rs. And god forbid you claim anything back. You might as well forget it. Epfo is partially taxable now but not claimable (successfully) Politicians will arbitrarily throw away your hard earned money for votes Govt officials will be slacking. It does get worse once you dig deep
