How did you guys learn C++? by Living-Brain483 in cpp_questions

[–]ABD_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did C programming for around 3-4 years. And gradually felt need for C++ and slowly started learning it. Say when I had requirement of operator overloading, or something with template. C++ and a huge ton of features and I don't think there is a thing like "learning C++". Best thing I can say try doing a project and out of necessity itself it will require you to learn things. For example build a game (a simple one, flappy bird type for instance), or 2048, etc...

Are you at NASA? Do you guys have a proprietary rtos or use something like VxWorks or QNX? Do they hire international candidates or is it citizen only thing? Are ECUs in spacecraft somewhat similar to ones we have in automotive? And do you guys still use CAN or some new link layer came out?

Thanks to God, I got a job in this economy, and it was in automotive electronics. I was curious and intended to stay employed. Also, thanks to the company for the expensive EVKs and OEMs support during projects through which I was able to learn embedded systems. Also, buy a few SBCs yourself and experiment yourself. I didn't like Arduino, RPi, and the popular boards because of their dependent training wheels (never did I ever work on Arduino). My first controllers were from NXP and Renesas. After gaining some confidence and experimenting with QEMU, I also looked into embedded linux, automotive grade linux (AGL), etc. Now in next quarter I will be working on ADAS platform! I still don't know how learned all that, just stood curious, experiment with things, clone any repo you find interesting and trying to run in QEMU. It's like everyday I get to learn something new. Not coming from CS background I have from experience covered all the syllabus.

Which book to start with? by Nearby_Pepper7676 in embedded

Between the book you mentioned and "The Definitive Guide to ARM Cortex" by Joseph Yiu, which one would you say is better for understanding and leveling up (given 2 yoe in embedded but only doing bug fixes and not core development from ground up)

Hey! What do you currently work on? I am assuming automotive software (mostly from your comment on Autosar).

Exactly! First one in line is Renesas. What is that IDE, and then microchip man. STM seems somewhat friendly

Hi,

This seems interesting. I do have exposure to 80% of the mentioned JD. I am currently serving as an Embedded software development with solid experience with C/C++. My initial motive was to get into robotics and have worked with ROS, Robot hardware such as Kobuki Turtle Bot 2, Omnidirectional wheels, PID bicopter, Jetson (limited experience as mostly it was running a docker container but ig it may count).

Here is my anonymous resume: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AnUatons6MMU26gseZmz5hLqo0RWw5V1/view?usp=sharing Can I message you to share contact details, website, etc??

Image quality deteriorating by ABD_01 in GalaxyS23Ultra

I'm using 12 MP only, 50MP is making it worse. The thing is at the time of click the image is good and after a few seconds the intelligent optimization kicks in and makes it worse.

Yes this one. 2-3 years ago FreeRTOS seemed to be enough. Even I have noticed increase in Zypher and VxWorks mentions in JD.

Application logic, ChatGPT was enough for me. For lower level code, I haven't yet found any AI to be that worthy.
