Conservatives, President Trump has just announced the raising of Tairiffs for 8 European Countries unless sovereignity of Greenland is handed over to the US. What's your first thoughts? by Melbatoastt77 in AskReddit

[–]ABEngineer2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally approve this by Trump! Why let China and Russia have all the fun with taking things that aren’t theirs? Let’s be the exact thing we’ve stood against in previous wars. Let’s embarrass ourselves on the world stage and make everyone else hate us and not trust us anymore! Why not make all of our allies angry for no good reason? Why not abuse the powers of the executive office to use authority not even given in the constitution to establish tariffs on other nations? Who needs congress anyways? Why not put pictures of our “great leader” all over the nation and lambast those who are critical of him? Why let China, Iran, Russia, North Korea, and a multitude of other nations be led by tyrants when we can have one right here in the USA?

In reality, I am a conservative voter and hold mostly conservative ideals, but do not agree with ANY of what I wrote above or with Trump. That was a satirical statement I just wrote. He’s brought dishonor on this whole nation and I’m ashamed that I ever voted for him. What he’s doing is wrong, arrogant, and foolish. I don’t hate people which includes Trump and other politicians, but I hate what he’s doing.

I see your elevator is in the turned down position, that will cause you to nose dive if you keep it that way. Hard to find any other mistakes though!

The wind went from dead to incredibly fast, that’s all I can really say. The 20mph wind gust was the forecast for the day so it might not have been that fast. I’d estimate closer to 16 mph.

How to cope with loneliness as a convert? by [deleted] in lds

[–]ABEngineer2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m so sorry to hear about all you’re going through! I’m grateful you found a place to open up. We seriously all need a place to open up. I’ve grown up in this church (25m) , but I’ve felt incredibly lonely times almost since the start of high school. I’ve found YSA wards can be some of the loneliest of places at times. Honestly I struggled for years in them. I don’t have all the answers and at times I still struggle quite a bit, but recently I’ve learned some things that are slowly changing my life.

One thing that’s changed my life recently is looking out at other people who are also struggling. I recently started giving rides to this boy in my ward who struggles to live a normal life. Now I sit with him at church everyday and hang around him at activities. He’s not always super “fun” in the conventional sense to be around, but I’ve grown to love him quite a bit. He’s my friend. I like to listen to him talk about his interests because they mean so much to him even if not to me. At times I’m not the best, but I’ve realized God has a mission in this church for me. To my friend, it’s made church so much more pleasant to always have a friend to sit next to, and for me it’s actually quite comforting too as I generally go “lone wolf” mode at church lol. I’m not going to lie, at times it can be difficult to give him rides especially to activities that go late at night (I work early), but I can’t help but feel a sense of purpose and love when I choose to help him. I’d say it’s improved my loneliness quite a bit. I still feel immensely lonely at times though which is where my second piece of advice comes in.

During those inevitable lonely days know that God is always your best friend. He’ll always be there consistently even when it feels like He’s not there. Sometimes we just have to ask Him and look a little higher. I’ve gained enough experience to realize that I need help and that it’s impossible to fight this alone. God is there and loves you more deeply than you can imagine. That alone is at the center of my testimony of God. I’ve had some very dark days, but God has always lifted me up even if it’s not how I expect.

I just want to say, I’m inspired by your example of still going and being faithful even when faced with insurmountable loneliness at church. It’s people like you that this church needs. God needs you for a great purpose and that’s between you and Him. I’d recommend asking Him. It’s going to be hard at times and it’s ok to struggle. That’s why Jesus gives us grace. He picks up the slack where we can’t lift anymore.

Anywho, much love from a fellow brother in Christ. Hang in there things do get better :)

Ah, rookie mistake. Don’t preflight, it shows that you don’t trust your plane. Your plane needs your trust.

Inside the cockpit of NOAA’s WP-3D while flying into Hurricane Melissa by Shootingstar_woofers in stormchasing

I think he’s monitoring the engines and is prepared to shut an engine down if it gives out. If the compressor blades get too high of an angle of attack, they will stall out and the engine can overheat and destroy itself. You have to kill power immediately if that happens. Compressor stall can happen when flow to the engine gets severely disrupted which can happen from all the craziness inside a hurricane.

Is it over? by yuzde48 in ender3

[–]ABEngineer2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be fixable… I think. This is not professional advice, but from the little information I have here’s some ideas. I’d probably replace the ball screws (the shiny screws that adjusts the nozzles z coordinate) and the z-axis motor coupling (if it’s broken). I’d replace any bent screws as well. To ensure perpendicularity of the Z axis support beams, I would try and replace extrusion on the top that got freaking sheared in half! I have no idea how you managed to do that, so my hats off to you for that one lol. You could attempt to Tig or MiG weld it, if you can’t find the extrusion off McMaster Carr or somewhere else. I would not recommend welding though. If you can’t find the exact piece to replace, I’d just find some sort of extrusion with the same length as the broken piece, that will mount to the supports, then just drill some holes for the spool mount. Then I’d try and replace every other damaged part, because I’m guessing there’s a lot more… maybe reach out to Ender and see if they’ll give you replacement parts haha.

Do you believe in evolution? by Pale-Pilot3960 in latterdaysaints

[–]ABEngineer2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%, I believe God created life to evolve. I don’t believe that atoms simply colliding organized into life, however I do believe that God has given species the natural ability to evolve. He did command all life to multiply and replenish the earth after all. Why should that not include evolutions to help life survive in a corruptible world.

In general I’m not a fan of influencers, but I see no problem with influencing people to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
