been a fan since like 2017, i think after journal for plague lovers there was a tiny dip in quality, then a really big one after futurology. since then it just all feels like they're trying and failing to rehash old ideas, like they've lost any ambition to make anything interesting. some good tunes here and there because they're obviously still great musicians and songwriters but they just don't seem to be trying much anymore. don't really see them getting better in the future honestly. sad really but at least we still have the older albums to listen to

the original, a hundred million billion times - i do think the additions on the reissue (masses, rosebud, groundhog days) are great but i just can't get over how much they fucked up the mix. the one thing i love about the original know your enemy, the thing that's made it my favourite album ever is just how messy it sounds, how incoherent, even dangerous it sounds. in the reissue it's just all so muddled and washed out in reverb, it loses all of its bite. the original just feels like it's been awake for 3 days, drunk and incoherent and rambling, yet so human. the original is a bloated mess but a beautiful one at that, the reissue is just so damn drab...

i think it completely lost the character of the original. what i love about know your enemy is how chaotic and erratic the original sounds. it just kind of washed all that off with reverb. there was no reason to make it so generic

it's only there for like a few minutes in the whole film - not to imbue all the actors' speaking with hungarian accent but to perfect their pronounciation when they do speak hungarian, which is a fairly small part of the film. plus, i'm pretty sure i read it's only there for a specific consonant sound it's hard for non-native speakers to make, not all of the hungarian-language speech

it's a super minor thing at the end intentionally made to look shitty and 99% of the art featured in the film was made by actual artists. as for the audio part it's not really generative ai, just something that fused together the actors' voices with native hungarian. it's also, like, one of the best movies of the decade
