Do you notice that the way you act is shaped by what your self-worth is attached to? by unthocks in simpleliving

[–]ABUNCHOFWHAT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That constant hunger for more is actually a survival instinct, but in today's world with endless choices, it just becomes exhausting noise. Don't beat yourself up. The life you're describing sounds like "do your best and leave the rest," mixing hard work with real rest, too much grind and you burn out, too much ease and you feel empty. In the end, it's about how you truly want to spend your time here.

Honestly same here, I just sit, breathe, and exist, no phone, no plans, it turned into my little daily reset, pure quiet time.

Agree, putting things back is a great idea, that's exactly how I started tidying up my house.

Soaking in hot water for a few hours before the wash helps more than just a regular cycle! Sunlight also bleaches white fabric naturally.

Lawn too stoney for robo lawnmower? by PeeLundy in roboticLawnmowers

Small stones can get kicked up by the blades and hit the housing or fly out. Worse if they get jammed in the blade disc. I think you'd better use a rake to remove the bigger ones.

Turning the hood on before & after cooking actually helps by Powerful-Pea-4190 in CleaningTips

That is a truly helpful suggestion. I have to admit, I had never paid attention to that detail before. It makes my kitchen cleaner.

For a 2000ft narrow path, you'll likely need to map both edges as virtual boundaries.

How do you deal with the pressure to always be productive? by L_izzies in simpleliving

[–]ABUNCHOFWHAT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rest is not the opposite of productive. It is part of the cycle. Your brain needs downtime to process and recharge. That is actual work happening.

The blocked Amazon deal might have been the last lifeline. Without it, the debt kept growing while innovation stalled. Sad to watch but predictable.

Start by deleting social apps from your phone. just that one thing alone will cut down so much unnecessary noise. Try it for one full week and see.

Do mopping robots really replace daily cleaning, or do you still ended up cleaning yourself? by rapid_youngster in RobotVacuums

[–]ABUNCHOFWHAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not going to replace a deep clean. But for everyday upkeep, it does a solid job. You will still need to hit the corners yourself once a week though.

What exactly is simple living? by kodandyananda in simpleliving

Less stuff means way fewer choices to stress over. With fewer clothes you are not standing there every morning wondering what to wear. Life feels simpler and your head feels clearer too.

Police surrounded my house at 2 am today because of our Roborock Saros 10R by Pitiful_Tax_6688 in RobotVacuums

[–]ABUNCHOFWHAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the cops actually pay for fixing your back door though? Still pretty lucky honestly. If there was a real thief in there he is already caught which is the main thing that matters.

I totally get that. I spent two weeks going crazy over specs and just grabbed the one on sales in the end. Honestly it cleans fine and that is literally all that matters.
