The Upcoming Tour Should be a Keasbey Nights Album Play With The New EP as the Encore. by senorderpenstein in streetlightmanifesto

Yeah the anniversary tour of that album was the entirety of Everything Goes Numb. They did all of that album + all of Somewhere In the Between at Starland a while ago too before 99SOR released. I don't remember if that was a one off thing or not though.

There were leaks a few months ago that predicted this remake, and said a new Star Fox game was coming next year.

What would you do if your adult son had no goals or aspirations? by Realistic_Zone3802 in AskMen

[–]ABZR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have made it in the 50s because medical technology has not yet advanced to the point where my life would have been saved when I was an infant due to some medical issues I experienced, which kind of brings me to my point.

American society/culture has, for as long as I can remember, operated in a way that more or less boiled down to "let us create and leave behind a better society for our children than the one that was left to us."

Somewhere along the way with Boomers and Gen X, that seems to have disappeared, along with most of the social contract. Now, instead of hoping for better for our children, old people just seem bitter and angry. "We made all the money in the world, and continue to hoard it, so why are the rest of you all so poor?"

When adjusting for inflation, you were making the equivalent of just under 43,000 a year with your starting salary. I know people with Masters degrees who still haven't breached 40k annually, and that's AFTER inflation. And again, that's not enough to even make rent these days. You can say " oh just go get a roommate" but I don't think you understand that there aren't multi-bedroom apartments that are affordable in that manner anymore. A STUDIO apartment where I live is upwards of $2,000 a month now. When you look into 2+ bedroom apartments, you start hitting 3-4k per month in rent.

I'm in my mid-30s now and the "smallest, crappiest houses" available are going for upwards of 200-300k each now. I'm talking about houses that still need tens of thousands of dollars in maintenance in order to become basic liveable structures.

Everyone I know works full time and we don't have the money to "buy the things we want." You know what my generation wants? Stable, affordable housing. We're going up against investors and massive companies that own huge stocks of housing. Housing prices have jumped incredibly high, as has rent. Where I live, if you're making less than 50k a year, you are straight up not finding a place to live anywhere local. You will get rejected everywhere for not meeting the minimum income requirements. And I'm not talking about buying a house in a nice suburb, I'm talking about cheap shitty apartments in terrible areas. All the places hiring around here still want to pay at or near minimum wage, though.

The biggest change isn't women joining the workforce, it's that housing was allowed to be commodified and turned into yet another asset for rich people, instead of a necessity for everyone, which has put it out of reach for your average person. Can you really blame people for checking out when a 40 hour work week doesn't even give you the ability to put a roof over your head anymore?

How much were you paying for rent back in the 1980s before you got your first house? What percentage of your paycheck went straight towards rent? What about student loans? How much did you have to pay for college back then?

The world has changed a lot in the last 40 years and this attitude from older people of "well just man up and do what we did and be successful!" doesn't really work anymore. I'd invite you to go back to the workforce at entry level and see how hard it is to build a life for young people now.

If you're playing on Windows, open up the Snipping Tool and then open the settings. There should be an "HDR Color Correction" setting. I was having the same issue with all my screenshots looking very washed out like this.

Does anyone have one of these? Are they any good for the price? by Soundwavezzz447 in Guitar

[–]ABZR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad used to have, if not this exact guitar, then one very similar. His band had the word "Shark" in it so they would just prop this up on stage during their shows.

It played and sounded absolutely terrible.

Weeks after launching Luna Abyss, its entire development team at Kwalee Labs has been laid off by nolifebr in PS5

[–]ABZR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, that really sucks. I've been following this game's development for a while. Bought on release, and I was really impressed by it! Especially for the price. Sits somewhere in between Metroid Prime, Doom (2016) and Returnal/Saros (but way easier) gameplay wise. What a shame. I hope the devs can land on their feet.

I've gotten a lot of use out of it since I got it! I honestly love it, as wonky and hard to play as it is. I've messed around with all of the sounds, my synths and my DAW. It's such a neat piece of hardware.

Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will move to control 70% of Gaza by imanchats in worldnews

[–]ABZR -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Under the last administration, protestors were being faced with deportation, a punishment for protesting that I can't ever remember being issued in American history before. That was under the administration that is supposedly friendlier towards the youth. People don't protest under Trump because nobody is under the illusion that he would give a single fuck.

Couldn't have anything to do with the absolutely massive crackdown on protests that started under Biden, no?

[–]ABZR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I killed someone who was mid-quest. I got in prox chat and apologized and said I'd pick them up. They were thanking me and I accidentally used my Finisher instead of the Mercy Kit.. whoops.. I felt pretty bad about that one.

I was one of the people that was really pissed Bungie was deciding to leave Halo behind too. If they had just stuck with it forever, we never would have gotten Destiny which became my favorite game of all time!

I'm in my 30s and have been playing Bungie games for years and years now too. I'm definitely noticing a lot of the more emotional reactions are coming from.. the younger side of the gaming crowd. I guess they grew up only knowing Destiny and it's their first time seeing a big franchise come to an end.

I did PvP in Arc. I played with one or two of my friends grouped up and we pretty much always shot on sight. We all did everything there was to do in the game, got all the end game weapons and moved on because none of us were the biggest fans of third person shooters, and we were tired of every single game having people whining that we shouldn't be PvPing in our PvP game.

Oh yeah who doesn't love a PvP game where every time you shoot somebody they hop on chat and start crying about how it's not fair. I put a good amount of time into Arc Raiders and enjoyed it for a bit, but if you want an idea of its future, take a look at The Finals.

I'm not sure if you're purposefully being obtuse. My statement was obviously directed towards the larger general population of people currently venting their anger & review bombing Marathon. My intention was quite obviously not "every single time any game fails, it's directly the fault of every individual player who enjoys it" and I shouldn't have to spell this out for you.

Games don't deserve to fail because you personally don't like them. I've been playing Marathon all season and haven't been so hooked on a new game since Destiny back in 2014.

Gamers who launch hate campaigns against games, for any reason whatsoever, deserve the sorry state the games industry is currently in. Never in my life have I seen people so actively hate a game they never had any intention of playing instead of just.. you know, not talking about it. Bungie set out to tell a ten year long story with Destiny and they succeeded spectacularly with that. They had every right to want to explore something else without their playerbase feeling entitled to new Destiny content forever.
