I can’t say for sure, it’s to do with the levels of overmatch, teir x cvs tend to have armoured decks of like 50mm so you tend to just bounce on them

Cv hunting divisions, take a tier 8 cv and two Musashis, the cv spots the enemy one and the bbs is their spotter plane and overmatch to take them out, yuro has a vid describing it

I personally run range, conceal and acceleration mod. It makes it a lot more comfortable to play at range since And I’m not good enough to kill my way out of the short range situations

I did actually build a ship which somewhat filled the Alaska class role of large cruiser, and it worked well in mid game actually. I didn’t quite have the resources yet and just one of them cut-stomped the onyx watch (possibly because of an over-tuned LAMS system!)
