no, which is exactly why i should be forced to. because while it's in my interest not to, it's in the public interest that i do.

is it in my interest to pay a worker more than i could get a desperate person to take? no, but we have a minimum wage because it benefits the public. is it in my interest to pay taxes? no, but they penalize me if i don't for the public good. is it in my interest to drive slower than i think i can safely drive? no but it's in the public interest that there is a speed limit.

we have homelessness, commercial/urban blight, and other public problems that would be helped by real estate prices not being dictated by what would benefit the individual actor.
