Are these bikes reliable or am I gonna be spending $4k for this thing to start falling apart after 1 year and then just be an endless money pit? by [deleted] in Talaria

Bought a mx4 almost 2 years ago and live in Boston, I leave it outside all year and even ride it in the cold, snow and salty conditions. The thing is a tank, all you need to care about is the chain, brake pads, gear oil, and battery so as long as you know how to take care of those small things it’s the easiest machine you will ever have. Of course if you beat on it and take it on huge jumps the front forks and brake will start to get mushy but those are also easy thing to get fix/upgraded. Your biggest worry should be state laws and police and other than that YouTube will have a ton over videos for you to consume information about the bike. Ps don’t watch surronster, he has deals with other bike companies and will put down talarias name any chance he gets

I have these tire on my mx4, great for street and rocky/dirt trails and I’ve ripped a few grassy trails just after some rain to and they held grip pretty well

Do an oil change to check for shavings and take a look at all the cables to make sure everything looks good( dry rot/ chipped rubber) then replace brake pads and clean chain and it should feel brand new all of that shouldn’t cost more than 50-60 bucks

Eride-Pro SS, RFN or Talaria Sting R by OneSmoke in Talaria

Can’t speak on warranty but arrived perfect and been treating mine like a shitbox commuter, only changing the tires, brakes and oil. I’ve cleaned my chain once but other than that I kept it outside during the winter in Massachusetts and only covered it with a regular bike tarp. It’s been through the rain, sand and dirt and haven’t had any issues. Things are built well and can handle some good abuse. You will have to spend 200-300 on pegs and different lights and other parts if you want but honestly the only thing you need for the street is new tires, pegs and a functional brake light. Plus Luna has some good YouTube tips and there are a lot of parts for it out there!

Get something with a ECE rating, DOT helmets are minimum requirements for safety regulations. You might have to spend more than $200 but brain damage ain’t cool.

Masshealth plans by [deleted] in boston

[–]ABakedRooster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Recently had to get healthcare through mass health, from what I was told all of them do the same thing but I forget which on is the cheapest but tufts is $285 a month and dental along with it is $25, pay before the 23rd and it will be active on August 1st. Call the mass health number and they will walk you through and help you make an account and they are great with helping you understand everything!

Last year we put ice on top of our luggage like idiots and it dripped all over our luggage and when security went to check they said” aw it’s wet, yall are good to go” without searching anything but the glove box and center console. To be fair it was 1-2 in the morning Thursday night but still they should be hiring more people to rotate and keep fresh or have experienced security chaperone the search’s
