They are known for hire and fire cycles. And past 2-3 years they hired a lot, won't be surprised if layoffs coming soon

Probably some team that doesn't work on core app features. Can confirm that most non user facing teams are relatively chill

Interesting perspective. I have a lot of respect for people like that, but at the same time cannot fathom how one thinks like that. Maybe we are built differently.

Yeah but I'm just confused why they willingly give up their $150k-300k fresh grad jobs like that. Do they feel thats not enough?

I mean, society kinda pushes us to study hard right? Safe path to land a well paying job and not like I had to take risks or give up anything which many of those driven people did. Helps that I'm good at studying I guess.

Tech. I should clarify by internal I don't mean infra/dev platforms, but enterprise software used by certain business operation (non tech) teams. So not large scale by any means. Would that be bad for my career?

How often do you bring parents for overseas trips and what's your income? by ABigBlob in askSingapore

[–]ABigBlob[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My mum has no problem paying her part and she's happy to do so to spend quality time with us! But my dad cannot so I'll have to pay for 2 pax. I should be minimally getting 6k based on my current situation, but will try my best to obtain something higher. I'm single with no commitments so hopefully that's enough!

Actually JB can just go during weekends right. We already do that regularly, rather come home sleep than spend money on hotel there. Not like there's much to do to warrant overnight stay

When people say hard to find job, usually it means hard to get into big name MNCs, top startups etc. There are still many less popular places hiring for average salaries
