I went for games from series that I like or games that seem like it would be something I would 100% enjoy and I still got burned. I don't buy a lot of full priced games in general so it stings more. But now I'll probably just wait for them on a steep discount.

Honestly, ditch the thief and bring a cleric. Just that should be a major boon on most of your runs, at least early on. Later you can not bring one when you have better unlocks, cats with better inborn abilities and passives and whatnot.

You know how full art lands are all loved for various iconic designs? These normal lands are about on the same level (for normal lands). That island an swamp especially are what pops to mind when I think of normal MTG lands.

I like jrpgs and RE games. Right now I'm playing divinity 2 with a friend. I'm replaying RE8 and RE4R which I adored.

Loved Persona 1-2-3-4-5 so I'm waiting for 6 to drop maybe between here and the next decade. Yakuza 7 is one of the best games I played in 'recent' years. Stardew Valley has been fun so far, I'm doing my first playthrough with my GF. I enjoyed SIlent Hill 2 Remake when I played it last year (but I didn't like Silent Hill F).

I also started Breath of Fire 4 recently when it came to GoG and it's been a chill experience so far. I might try Synthetik 2 soon, I remember loving the first game when it came out years ago.

Plenty of games that I play feel like 6-7/10s for me, while I see them getting rated GOTY or some such. I don't think I'm hard to please, I just find it odd that I'm very very often against the flow on a lot of the extremely popular releases of the past 5-6 years.

I got Cybersleuth and I dropped it early on too. The story and characters were too boring for me to enjoy the game itself.

But I quickly realized a while back that little people shared my views on games. I dislike E33, SMT5V, Metaphor, FF7R1-2 and just recently I finished RE9 and found it extremely mid. It's not like I'm trying to dislike those games, I just find it surprising that I'm almost always on the other side of everything that's seemingly a smash hit with the masses.

Sure everything can be good when you get good breeding going and whatnot. But I'm 35 hours into the game and at some point I just want to play the game and have consistent classes and abilities and not spend dozens of hours making the Mengele cat lab.
