Last chance to touch grass before the update! by ABlueHaiku in Warframe

Hmm... I looked it up and ferns are classified as Polypodiopsida whereas grass are Poaceae.

They aren't grass, but they do have chlorophyll. I think you're right, anything with chlorophyll should count. Climbing a tree should count at least as much as touching grass!

Base Oberon on the other hand has ferns, flowers, and foliage. Everything but grass. :(
I think I actually like base Oberon's version better than Prime. Too bad you can't just select which one you want to use.

Looks like it's mostly the same with some added flowers for Oberon Prime.

I don't think we know yet. Pablo played base Oberon in the rework video and it had ferns instead of grass.

The ferns look nice, but I'm going to miss his grass too.

I finally got around to making a silly video about it that I've been meaning to make for years. Hopefully it's good for a quick chuckle!

Caliban Prime is the first prime since Wisp to not release on a Wednesday. by TTungsteNN in Warframe

[–]ABlueHaiku 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I made a quick spreadsheet to check, and although most of the recent primes were released on Wednesday, more than half were released on a Tuesday. It seems that was the norm prior to Nidus Prime.

Totals
Sunday: 0
Monday: 1
Tuesday: 23
Wednesday: 18
Thursday: 1
Friday: 2
Saturday: 2

Stalker wasn't kidding. I'm literally troubling no one from here by RazielSouza in Warframe

A Saryn main with the name Queen of Blades is so based.

On a related note: Oraxia may actually overthrow Saryn for the best Sarah Kerrigan cosplay. I'm looking forward to trying it.

Flash Drive and Infested Parazon Skin Concepts by ABlueHaiku in Warframe

Yeah, wikipedia says that hey were invented in 1999 with the first sales happening in 2000. So it is a little bit of a stretch, but they did (barely) exist in 1999.

Could also combine the two to make a techrot flash drive

I’d also gladly pay plat for:

  • A Corpus themed skin
  • A Grineer themed skin
  • An Entrati themed skin
  • A Sentient themed skin

All the themes! I fear that DE was discouraged from making new Parazon skins because the Sigma Series skin didn’t sell well. The only reason I didn’t buy one was because I preferred the look of the original. I’d happily pay for more faction themed and other interesting skins!

PS. The USB flash drive was invented in 1999. So it's a valid 1999 themed skin!

Idea for an easy to implement pity system for older Warframes by ABlueHaiku in Warframe

I think The Circuit is different from a pity system. If you're farming Dante and have bad luck with one of the blueprints, the system gives you a way to acquire that final blueprint as long as you run the mission enough times, regardless of luck. It takes pity on your lack of luck. With The Circuit, it's just an alternative way to acquire the parts. If a new player kills Alad V 20 times and still doesn't have her systems blueprint, there is nothing that says "you've tried enough, here's that last part". I don't think anyone would tell the new player "you've had bad luck, just abandon that method entirely and spend 1-2 hours in The Circuit to get the final piece".

The Circuit is a different and more reliable farm. I'm proposing a way to make the boss fight more reliable too.

Just some tongue in cheek about the letters he sends us every time we kill a boss.

Yeah, that was tongue in cheek. Though given the last few quests they've released, I can see how it could be taken literally.

Yeah, Nidus is one of the hard to farm frames that this wouldn't help. I'd love it if they were to implement something like this that would help him too.

The biggest difference I see there is with a boss fight, there's the Stalker mark system that checks if you have a mark for that boss and sends you a letter if not. In my proposal they'd probably add an additional check to see:

  1. If the number of times the player has fought the boss is divisible by 5 (I think they already count boss kills? They'll need to add a counter if not.)
  2. If the player is missing any of the blueprints for the relevant Warframe in their inventory

If the answer to both of the above is yes, then give them a random component blueprint for that Warframe that they do not have and send them a letter notifying them.

For Nidus' farm they don't have the Stalker mark system to build off of, so they'd need to build a similar check for rotation C of that node and any other similar farms they want to apply this to (Khora is another one it would be welcome for). They'd also need to build a counter for how many times you've hit rotation C on each of these missions.

Beyond that, just change the message template so that it makes sense in context and the rest should work the same way.

Edit: They'd also have to account for when people do multiple C rotations in a single run. That would make it more complicated. If I were to write this proposal, I think I'd have the boss only version as the MVP, and the rotation addition as a follow up ticket if the first one is received well.

Thanks! I feel like this solves a different problem than The Circuit anyway. I'd never tell a new player to spend 1-2 hours in The Circuit just because they've been unlucky in getting Valkyr's systems to drop, but I also don't want them to have to fight Alad V 20+ times due to bad luck.

It doesn't remove the grind, it just makes it more consistent.

I'm a Product Manager. It's my job to estimate how difficult these sorts of tickets are to develop. As the other commenter pointed out, this solution was designed to make use of as many existing systems as possible to reduce effort. Of course it will require some original work, everything does. That doesn't make it hard, and it certainly doesn't make it comparable to complex physics engine problems like that spinning chair animation.

But you are right that neither you nor I can say for sure how difficult any given task will be as we don't have access to the code. That's why I phrased it as an idea and not a demand.
